YEah Avengers just passed the X-men big time.

it also helped that Avengers have basically been dominating the X-books for the last century, where the X-books have kind of topped off and just branched off into several other books getting too convoluted.

Where as Avengers have basically been tied to all the big Events since 2006. And as far as films which reach a wider audience Avengers have surpassed X-men now.

X-men still has Avengers beat cartoon wise, but I'm guessing that won't last for long. Marvel really needs to get its act together with the X-men

The X-Men remain popular, but now they're at best parallel with the Avengers rather than dominating the field alone.

No. A majority of the movie goers don't read comics. Also, Marvel did a massive marketing for Avengers, including the easter eggs at the end of each movie, spending over $200 million on budget plus marketing, and the most imporant thing to keep in mind is that this is Marvel Studios. If Xmen was made by Marvel studios, X-men would have killed it.

Where you been, son? X-men has the 2 best selling Marvel books. Also, like others said, they are collectively more popular and recognizable franchise than the Avengers.

i wonder what a Marvel studios X-Men would even look like. i'd feel bad if they got rid of McAvoy and Fassbender.
