One of my favorite shots of Mr. Reeve

Here is one that is made with a Christopher Reeve Hot Toys Superman. Excellent Job by whoever made this.

And This one is a what if had time had lined up correctly.

The "poor bastard" had plenty of good shots at other big roles. His problem wasn't typecasting, it was bad career choices, and he even admitted it just prior to his accident. Richard Gere has even said that he owes his career to Reeve refusing so many of the roles that made Gere a star. The blame for Reeve's career fizzling has nothing to do with Superman and everything to do with his own poor judgment.
Fair enough. Dude was offered roles, but I think after Superman he figured he didn't want to be in any movie that he considered lowbrow (a category which he did not consider the man of steel to fall under) and it's not like people usually consider American Gigolo and Lethal Weapon to be high art.

Reeve was classically trained, and I'm sure those movie would have been improved by his inclusion, but I'm also pretty sure that his highbrow background contributed to his dismissal of roles like those.

But yeah, there were bad career choices involved, not JUST typecasting. It's just that a lot of his roles in other films were so overshadowed that he might be playing, for example, a homosexual sociopath (Deathtrap) and people would still think of him as Superman.

I look at this and it makes me think... man, Michael Keaton's Batman looks ridonkulous.

Christopher Reeve is the definitive live action Superman.

In the movie "Speechless" Dc has an unofficial crossover. Reeve( Superman) meets Keaton ( Batman).

It would have been perfect if Kevin Conroy was the live action Batman. Apparently, he went to the same acting school as Christopher Reeve and even almost roomed with him.

For me, in this case, it wasn't Keaton. I loved Keaton as Batman but the suit just looks ridiculous compared to Bale's 2 suits or the suit worn by Kilmer (no nipples)
