The foreign hero is probably Pete Wisdom. Gambit may try and jack something from the UK.

Not much in terms of preview art, but in terms of James Asmus's pitch I'm definitely intrigued. I think he's bold to take on a solo book like this at the moment. Solo series have been cancelled left and right lately. Marvel seems more content to double-ship more established books, but at least with this they show they're willing to roll the dice on a solo book again. After seeing what Asmus was capable of during the latter part of Generation Hope, I'm willing to give this a chance. I'm not a huge Gambit fan, but if he can do for Gambit what Mark Waid did for Daredevil then I think this series definitely has potential.

Every x-man reserves the right to change their outfit, I am surprised that Gambit's 90's outfit kept coming back here and there. Really the pink chestplate has been discontinured for quite some time.
But the head sock stayed longer than it needed to. Good decision on their part.

ASMUS: For most thieves the goal is to not even come in contact with the opposition. You want to perform a heist without running into anyone. If you are in a situation where you've got to fight someone you've already messed up. My take on Gambit in this series is that he's not going to be someone who would kill lightly, if at all.
Yes. Someone who gets the concept.

ASMUS: As to the Death persona, I'm not planning to delve into that for the foreseeable future
How about never? Be done with it - it was a stupid idea and needs to be put out of its misery.

Im not as unhappy with the idea of Gambit scratching an itch and stumbling on a greater issues but I still wish this book was more pushed out of AvX just because I think it was a wasted way to gain it more visability for a new solo given we know how hard solos are to push. If this is going to be about Gambit stealing and running afowl of other heros, then I do hope there is some contrast with both Gambit's motives as compared to some "supposed" straight-laced or governments entities. There is a lot of shady stuff going on in the MU in very high places and if the Gambit book has some fun with that I'm all for it. More I want to see some of those entities need his help now and then. I actually liked the comment about Gambit "not planning" though I hope its not taken the wrong way. I think Gambit as a thief plans alot for each heist but he doesn't plan his next move or his life. Gambit doesn't want his life planned out after how his family tried to do that for him. It takes away the "fun" of just living. I'm glad to see Gambit out in the MU just because I don't think Gambit unlike so many of the X-Men is all that tied to "being a mutant". Despite it being very evident, he grew up with humans with all sorts of skills and living in a world with aliens and magical things going on so I don't think he's about mutants as much as he's about people surviving and that includes mutants. I am so looking forward to this book,

Oops my bad, I was posting in the Gage-Rogue thread before posting this and mind was obviously still linked. I normally wouldn't change it this late as I only just reread it, but it was rude to Asmus with the mix up.

Dammit all. With Asmus being the writer, this book is now a must. Some characters get all the luck.

Yes, Asmus should avoid the death persona, see it is such a stupid idea that it threatens to plauge Gambit.
If it is not settled eventually it will be used against him by the next anti Gambit author.
Ideally it should be settled in X-men legacy

This books sounds perfect. Not that a Lila Cheney appearance wouldn't go amiss.

I do wish people would stop worry about making book so accessible though. Marvel did very well indeed for many many years utilising continuity and having everything they needed to know in the story. That was without wikipedia, , comic sites, ebay, digital comics and pirated comics.

Plus are there really that many new readers. Seriously I challenge anyone to find someone who picks up this book who doesn't know about Rogue and Gambit's romantic history. I mean it's pretty much what defined the character for most of his existence.

I mean I get there is such a thing as over convoluted and nobody wants to get bogged down in someone else's story but I would like to see the death persona thing resolved, even if it's a throwaway line. Being a Horseman of Apocalypse is now part of Gambits story and not one that should be forgotten so easily.

I imagine these little things go a long way to keeping the long time fans happy and sticking around more so than they do confuse 'new' readers who live in a world with information at their fingertips.

Re: Death persona. As far as I'm concerned, already dealt with globally via Uncanny X-Force. This book sounds like it will be allot of fun, and I enjoy Asmus' views on the character. The premise sounds very good. I look forward to this book.

I am definitely pre-ordering this. Asmus' work at Marvel so far as been boats of fun to read and you cannot go wrong with Clay Mann.

There is no Death persona in Gambit anymore. Remender already stated that Archangels accession made all other personas moot.... Meaning they do not exist in Wolverine, Gambit, Polaris, just the final Horsemen....
