Avengers vs. X-Men: How much PIS can they manage?

In AvX2, Cyclops' blasts didn't push Cap back at all, so i have no idea what was going on with that first one in the first issue.

Plus, he spent most of that issue whaling on Cap with blasts, and, for absolutely unknown reasons, always chest-high narrow-angle blasts that Cap could trivially block. He never once opens up the GOML special, something that would have been awesomely effective.

And to follow up on what Shellhead was saying, Thor was in his "bones like fine china" phase, and took a MASSIVE pounding (having his arm totally shattered) to save a number of mutants in the massacre, down in the tunnels. He also fired off a stupifying plasma blast that sterilized the umpteen miles of tunnels completely to give them all as proper a Norse funeral as he could manage at the time.

Where were rest of the Avengers? They were fighting the Masters of Evil at that time. Hercules got beat into a coma, Jarvis got crippled, and the entire Avengers Mansion got trashed. Needless to say, the Avengers were busy. Maybe they could have handled the Masters of Evil more efficiently if Thor wasn't so busy rescuing a bunch of ungrateful mutants.

And then there's Spider-Man who offered to help the X-Men right after the massacre when he tries to warn them about a villain mucking about with mutant cloning, and they tell him to take a hike. They don't accept his offer of help until he mentions the villain is that ''Sinister'' dude who is starting to loom as a threat. After that little revelation, the X-Men decide that mutant-human co-operation is a great idea after all.

They allowed Warlock because he's a mutant member of his own race.

There's also Mimic, Danger (if you're not counting Warlock, then you can't count Danger), Amanda Sefton, Tom Corsi, Sharon Friedlander, Candy Southern, Gosamyr, Lockheed, Phoenix (fake Jean), Omega Sentinel, Hepzibah, Doctor Nemesis (I don't THINK he's a mutant), Fantomex, Katie Power, Madelyne Prior (sorta), Korvus?.... I'm not even really sure whether Longshot and Shatterstar count.

Joseph was a clone of a mutant, but not a mutant himself. Ditto X-23.

Avengers vs X-Men reads like one of those fantasy Team vs Team matches one views in the rumble boards. On one hand it could be a entertaining read, on the other it could turn ugly

Scott doesn't accept him as a Mutant, but he's been on every incarnation of the X-Force. Save one. Helps them out from time to time. Simultaneously beaten them, and lost to them so he could restore their image, and oh yeah, he does it for free.
