One of the problems of Carol and Peter being in a relationship is that there is a risk of having 2 super-heroes in ASM. It will be more like a team-up book rather than a solo Spidey title. I mean, how can you write Carol as Perter's girl without having to deal with her daily role of fighting villains and crime? And wont it be obvious that Peter and Carol are Spidey and Ms. Marvel?

Whoa whoa she's not "Peter's girl" she's her own girl she would just be dating Peter Parker. And I'd have to imagine she'd be in space, or other countries quite a lot. Not always fighting street crime with Spider-Man.

I think it is. She was ProReg and a member of the public MA team. She's also been, at certain times, more a soldier of the military then superhero.

Yeah I'd be surprised if her identity wasn't publicly known since she was ProReg.

You're right about one thing: Carol is nobody's girl. But I still feel that she isn't going to be the only superheroine to date Peter Parker because I think that he'll be dating a few more heroines as well in the future. Carol is a very busy woman who has very little time for a normal life. And you would be surprised to see who is actually interested in legitimately Peter outside of The Avengers. The two other candidates(IMO) are The She-Hulk and Spider-Woman(despite being in a relationship with Clint). Those are the only other Avengers(besides Carol) who are into a guy like Peter Parker. After Carol and Peter conclude their team-up in Avenging Spider-Man #10, I doubt that you'll see them hanging out for a longtime since their last team-up was over 2 years ago in Spider-Man: Siege #1. This was the reason why I felt that there should be some diversification with Spider-Man's mutual relationship among the heroines who are attracted to him.

Oh agreed! And Peter should be playing the field, as much as I disliked the OMD nonsense, I felt any potential for him dating, normal girls or superheroines was rapidly depleted by saddling him up with a single monogamous live in partner. (its different from being married how? oh right, piece of paper)

But its definitely a relationship i'd like to see explored more.

Carol outed herself when she was doing the the 'making amends' part of her alcoholism recovery. In order to take responsibility for the damage she caused, she came forward publicly before a court of law.

They couldn't even keep Spider-Man's ID a secret from Captain America in Avenging Spider-Man (Slott didn't want Cap to know Spidey's ID). Just because the books have the same editor doesn't mean there wouldn't be problems. Human errors exist.

Really, a relationship between Peter and Carol would make it seem like Carol was riding Spidey's coattails.

Slott doesn't want ANYONE knowing. That'd be my preference as well, but we don't exist in a vacuum.

Once the rest of the Avengers know, it's a little hard to believe Cap wouldn't.

Carol Danvers is/was a writer and an editor. She was the editor of "Woman" magazine, which was published by J Jonah Jameson. So she had connections to the Daily Bugle, and met Peter and MJ in the early issues of the Ms Marvel volume 1 comic. Carol and MJ became friends and hung out together for a few issues. MJ was also on the cover of Ms Marvel vol 1 #1.

Carol, moreso than just about any other female hero, has established history with Peter Parker and his world. Which makes the whole Carol and Peter thing more than just a random pairing. If Carol were to resume her writing/editing gig, she could easily fit into Pete's circle of friends.

And if Carol and Pete don't date, I'd at least love to see Carol and MJ resume their friendship. Maybe MJ can show up in the new Captain Marvel title. It's about time MJ broke away from the Spider-verse for awhile.

I wouldn't say "anyone" since he had Spidey unmask in front of the Fantastic Four (twice!).
