I thought it was a very strong opener. All the more sad that it is the last season. Well at least they are going out in style.

I surmise that the fact that it is the last season is what is going to make the show so good this season. Since they are going out, and they know it, they can do whatever they want because the story won't be continuing. People could die. Anything could happen.
I am also curious to see if Stark is brought back in the "matrix" or if he actually is still alive since everything is different now than it was when he "died".

Bringing Stark back would be the best! I honestly thought they were going to bring him back much sooner but the longer they wait the more I think he might actually be dead.
Is anyone else sick of Beverly being the Big Bad for Eureka? She might be the worst villain ever.
I like Beverly...a lot...
and she only came back recently...she was in the first season and then vanished till last season....

McKenstry those with the most opinions often have the fewest facts.
Barack Obama There's not a liberal America and a conservative America - there's the United States of America.
Christopher Yost Cyclops = Awesome and Right, while Xavier = USELESS JERK-O! Viva la Cyclops!
Facts are the enemy of truth.
You gonna get us out of here. With that tight-ass Wolverine outfit on. Now, let's make it happen, asshole
YOST: Okay, it's not Jean Grey. Nobody likes her
I think they're gonna flip-flop between. The Matrix and the real world for a bit. Wouldn't it be funny if Fargo turned out to be Eureka's version of Neo?
FARGO: You're saying I can dodge bullets?
ALLISON: I'm saying when you're ready, you won't have to.
Who's Stark? I've missed a bunch of the early episodes.
Thus do I write the first chapter of my new scripture. And the first verse is "Let it all burn."
PHOENIX INVICTUS!
Nathan Stark was the original Head of Global Dynamics before Allison and Fargo...he is also Allisons ex-husband

I enjoyed the opener, but I just had a sick feeling in my stomach when it was revealed Carter was with Jo. I know it probably makes sense under the circumstances, but I just plain don't like it. Not only because I've always wanted Carter with Allison(they teased us with this in the 1st season finale), but because I want Zane and Jo back together too. I've seen(in my mind) Carter with a couple of different women on the show, but Jo was just never one of them.
I was relieved to know none of it was real. Though I'm wondering if this plot of them being in a simulation will be wrapped up next episode or if we're going to see this play out for a while, since that just means every episode is a simulation until it's fixed. I want that damn dragon to be real.

I'd like to see and learn more about the organization Beverly works for. She can't really be the leader, and we've seen her "helpers" before as well, but don't know much about them.
At this point, I'm not sure what their goal is. They have the greatest minds in Eureka under their control, but to what extent? Beverly acts like they want peace, but how do they plan to achieve it? Do they want to take over the world? Get rid of all nukes and other weapons? What?
Someone also mentioned Nathan Stark returning, I've been waiting for this moment ever since he "died", but I get the feeling if he does appear it will be in one episode. It might not even be the "real" Nathan, as they've used him before that way. It's a shame to me because when he died Carter and Stark were just really starting to learn to work together in that season..and they could of done a lot more for that. I would of liked to see them become friends, not in the way Henry and Carter are friends, but still. I'd be willing to forsake the Allison/Carter relationship if it meant Nathan was still alive and stayed on the show.
This makes me just want to go back and rewatch the first couple of seasons with Nathan as a main cast member.

Beverly explains to James Callis' character what their goal is...to control technological progress and mold it as they see fit

Beverly and the Consortium have really evolved from ethical extremist to outright power mad terrorist. I think since season four she has gain less of my willingness to accept some of her views to outright rejection
I too will post my flag in the anti Jo/Carter camp. Zayne's electro-shock and this new relationship made me thing with 100% that this would be a fake out. I was still holding out for Jo and Taggert pair up.
Yeah, but that's a bit vague. She was going on about wanting him to stop nukes from being made or something, or that is what her father wanted to do.
Are they simply your standard evil organization that want to control Eureka and therefore possibly the world? It seemed like they could of been much more then that. I still want to know who is running the group.
