I have always believed that The Avengers were being pushed at the cost of the X Men. Then I took a look the Avengers boards and long time Avengers fans are also mad at changes to their beloved characters - apparently Steve Rogers even tortures someone in one storyline. Joe Q is revamping everything for 'modern' tastes and not caring who he upsets in the process.Which is typical behaviour of big businessmen.

Ya' know what might be even better? Jean returning, telling Scott and his X-Men to piss off and then joining the Avengers. That would cause a whole lotta butt-hurt!

It's truly amazing because Marvel comics has relieved us, the readers, of the responsibility of having to determine whether Xorn was Magneto or not. It's not for us to worry about. It's no longer necessary to read Morrison to decide. They have dutifully informed us that Xorn was not Magneto in 616.
VIVA KUSASAN!!! Morrison On Magneto: I made him into a stupid old drug-addicted idiot. CC had done a lot of good work over the years to redeem the character. And I went in and sh*t on all of it.

I often wonder why some writers bother introducing drastic new changes when the next writer is going to immediately retcon them! I liked it when Morrison and Claremont wrote for X Men; they often referred to each other's work and it seemed more realistic for Storm to discuss what was going on at the X Mansion, or Bishop 'guesting' in New X Men. Nowadays reading WATXM, or Uncanny it's as if they're two different universes.

If people are thinking Avengers are over taking X-Men in popularity and Marvel making them main flagship company titles etc why is there twice as much X titles as Avengers?
