    Default Thanks to Comics...

Pretty simple thread: Finish the phrase "Thanks to comics..." with examples from your own life. Such as:

Thanks to comics, every time I hear the "Flashdance" theme, I think of Arseface and pickup trucks.

Thanks to comics, I know way more about weird regional variations on vampires than I probably should.

Thanks to comics, I have dreams about making people's heads explode with my mind.

Thanks to comics, I know that dairy products are drunken, angry, and spiteful.

Thanks to comics, I learnt that Romania switched sides from the Axis to the Allies. (In real life, this probably didn't mean German soldiers were now going to to be attacked by their vampire comrades)

Thanks to comics, I know that X-ray spectacles were actual stuffs for real at shops within the USA.

Thanks to comics, I know for a fact that talking ducks never wear pants.

Thanks to comics, I know what to make of either stray toasters, plastic forks, or utterings such as 'Zap!' or 'Poit' or 'toot toot'...

Thanks to comics, I wonder when my times comes when a group of gorgeous busty women will fight over my affection.

Thanks to comics, whenever my history class talks bout WW2 and Nazis, I wonder when will get to talk bout the occult, vampires, and werwolves.

Thanks to comics, I can now say I've observed a wedding where a corpse animated by a sentient alien tree married a Celstial Madonna and a synthezoid married a mutant witch, officiated by a time conqueror with multiple identities.

Thanks to comics, I can never hear the astronomy term "parallax" without thinking of the time Hal Jordan went berserk.

Thanks to comics, I am now utterly convinced that a number of criminals can be defeated by offering them delicious Hostess brand snack cakes.

Thanks to comics, I can now reference Disney characters so obscure that big Disney fans don't know who they are ("Gee, I wonder why they never use Morty or Ferdie in these old Mickey Mouse shorts?" "Who?")

I like #3. I wish that a grown man reading comics didn't have a negative stigma.

There's no stigma for grown men reading comics.

At the moment, comics are a HUGE entertainment seeding ground, with 3 of the upcoming big ass blockbusters being comic book movies, and super-hero comic book movies at that.

Disagree on the stigma... there's still one exists, but yeah, I don't give a crap.
