I don't know. I kinda like Kate Bishop. It could be my weakness for leggy brunettes, though.

I honestly like Hawkeye, but I am surprised that Marvel seems so intent on pushing the character over the last 2-3 years. First it was the Hawkeye/Mockingbird series, then his role in co starring in a Black widow story, Blindspot mini, Avengers Solo, more guest spots then Wolverine, Captain America and Hawkeye series that is supposed to be coming out and now another solo. The only characters coming close to the number of series he got are Captain America because of his movie, Wolverine and Spider-man because they are Wolverine and Spider-man.

Idk, I don't mind street Hawkeye, the sort of story we got in the Fabian Nicieza run, but not every attempt has been so grounded. The McCann stuff was largely espionage, because of Bobbi, the Gruenwald run was pretty straight-on superhero. But that could be because the presence of Oddball negates all street cred. I mean, yeah, he doesn't fight Kang in his solo projects (he's Hawkeye), but that doesn't meant they've always had a grounded tone.

He should fight Kang. It would be silly, but silly fun. He fought the Abomination in one of the Solo Avengers. It was pretty silly, but it was fun. That said, I would love to see someone with a deep love of comics and the ability to make it believable just go over the top on Hawkeye out of his weight class stories. A rematch with the Grandmaster. A rematch with the Collector. A rematch with the Abomination. Take down the Crimson Dynamo. Fight Doom. Just go nuts.

More realistically, the thing that I would really like to see is a better rogues and a more fleshed out supporting cast. That is something that most of Hawkeye's solo efforts have suffered from. Even if the writer wants to keep teh book "street level" we can do better than Oddball, Tenpin, Boomerang, Plantman, Bullet Biker, Maddog and Trickshot. That may be the worst rogues gallery in comics history.

It seems to me that Hawkeye has enough history with various villains that he ought to have a deep rogues gallery. He has particular beefs with Bullseye (who took his identity), Alkhema (who took his wife's brain patterns and hates him), Trickshot (his brother), and Crossfire. That is a good start for a core group of rogues. He also has history with Madam Viper (2nd mini), Baron Zemo, The Batroc Brigade (fought twice during solo avengers), and just about every Avengers villain.

Ok, I gotcha. But what would you do with him in a solo series? No matter what he'd never face the Captain America level villains alone...that's what Cap is for.

The old costume is sooooo out of style. It was already for years. I was glad they finally gave hinm this costume and finally Clint looks.... sexy.

I think this costume is a bit a copy of the Ultimate costume and it's great.

I am looking forward to his solo-title.

I think im interested in seeing his rouges get revamped. Some of them might seem stupid but so was hawkeye and spiderman's rogues at one point and that shouldn't stop you from trying to revamp and make them better.

You can revamp in a similar way that Bendis revamped bombshell for Ultimate spiderman. I'm not saying dont make new villians, just dont forget the old ones.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...acters#Enemies

Some of these might not be applicable as they might interfere with hawkeye's new street approach but others like zemo have a personal tie to him and dont care if he is street or not.

I am hte biggest proponent of updating his rogues gallery (although both Silencer and Blind Justice should come back).

But, as lame as they are, I would love to see Billet Biker and the Orb in a motorcycle game. Maybe we should save that for a She-Hulk book.

Didn't they already does this and it was a total fail. So they have pretty much taken anything Hawkeye about the character and got rid of it to try and farm off some self indulgent take on an urban robin hood to the fans. Lol, god no wonder Alonso liked this, it sounds dull as. It's a shame Mccans version didn't sell because that was a Hawkeye book. I'll be amazed if this gets past 12 issues
Excuse me, but I've been a HUGE Hawkeye fan for close to 20 years and I loved Nicieza's run.

McCann's Hawkeye is still hands down my favorite portrayal, but Nicieza's is a close second.
Also, Fraction/Aja's Immortal Iron Fist is one of my favorite top 5 favorite runs in modern comics history. So them teaming up could be awesome.

Maybe Frank Miller should take a crack at writing a Hawkeye story arc with Jae Lee doing the artwork. Afterall, he did redefine Daredevil.

No way. I don't want to read about a Clint that's lost everything, or rather has no redeeming qualities (like the bulk of Miller's superhero writing in the last few years).

Thus, I believe that Carol Danvers, Silver Sable, Jennifer Walters, and Jessica Drew should be on Spidey's list of costumed women who are interested in him. For Spider-Man there should be at least 5-6 potential heroines who have a strong attraction towards him aside from The Black Cat. Some diversity among the costumed love interests outside of Black Cat would make things interesting. Especially for a writer who might not like The Black Cat; but would choose either Carol Danvers, Silver Sable, Jennifer Walters, or Jessica Drew.
The thing about Spiderman is that he doesn't have love interest, Peter does. Spiderman is one of the best heroes in the MU, Peter Parker is a huge nerd. Being that his identity is pretty much totally secret his relationships are limited to regular people. Hawkeye is a celebrity / rockstar Superhero and thus should have no limitations to his dating pool.

To stay on topic, I'm looking forward to this book and hoping that the Fraction / Aja magic is reborn!
