1st Look: Spider-Men

I like it, the way they're both slowly removing each other's masks, they must be terrified and just confused out of their brains.

We then saw some Sara Pichelli art from “Spider-Men”, the kind of pages that make you take a sharp intake of breath so lovely are they. These pages, showing 616 Peter Parker and Ultimate Nick Fury kind of sold me on the series, it – and Bendis’ clear enthusiasm for the project and Ultimate comics world – have such great acting going on, seeing the expressions Pichelli gave these characters really suggests some interesting character moments, Bendis’ talk of 616 Peter Parker meeting Aunt May furthers this idea.
Also previewed were a few covers and variant covers for Spider-men, including a Mark Bagley pencilled cover inked by Sara Pichelli that Bendis seemed pretty chuffed about, as he did too about the Pichelli cover of Peter Parker and Miles removing each other’s masks- saying that it’s just the sort of thing we don’t see often with the covers.

I like how Peter looks like an adult and miles a child. The first teaser, I know it was only a teaser, they looked the same.

I hope it is set solely in the ultimate universe. As in Peter gets pulled into the ultimate universe

Wow, that looks fantastic! I love that two-page spread. It's a lot like the kind of Spider-man shots that Immonen used to do on his run. I also really like the Miles-as-a-reflection-of-Peter cover; I can't wait to see a more clear version of it. Hopefully they'll have some "official" art released today during the liveblog.

It's also great to know that Ultimate Fury will be playing a part. This is really starting to sound awesome.

So does this take place after the children vs the people event? Its good to see that the world isn't in a nuclear fallout. It would be funny to see Peter arrive in the Ultimate Universe only to die by a whole bunch of nukes.

Glad to hear that Ultimate Fury is involved, hope MJ, May and the rest of the Spider-family get in on the event too =) (from the ultimate side I mean)

Though it was said Ultimate x 616 would happen when Marvel was out of ideas, I think this specific instance is great, because Ultimate Spidey has just died, so having an adult Parker in the same world is going to shake things up for a lot of people in a really significant way. I just hope as mentioned, it's Ultimate-set exclusively, 616 verse meeting Miles would be of zero impact and zero interest to in-universe characters and readers alike.

I'd love to read the moment where Mile explains to Peter that in this universe he's dead heh.

Oh good golly. Ultimate Nick Fury x Adult Peter Parker? My head is going to explode from all the awesome.

I've always wanted a "what might have been" one shot after DoSM that showed where Peter would have ended up had he survived. I think that he could have taken over the mantle of Captain America, been the greatest of them all, etc. It'll be wonderful to see how Fury reacts :).

Same thing can be said about Aunt May, though at the same time, I'm sure that she'd be proud of what he's become. Though from the sounds of things, this at least partially will take place in the Ultimate Universe.
