We struggled against apartheid in South Africa, supported by people the world over, because black people were being blamed and made to suffer for something we could do nothing about; our very skins. It is the same with sexual orientation. It is a given.

Morning people. First day back at work in 12 days, most spent sick; I fear my in box.
What have I always believed? That, on the whole, and by and large, if a person lived properly, not according to what any priests said, but according to what seemed decent and honest inside, then it would, at the end, more or less, turn out ok.

    Morning.
First day back to work and we got a power failure. We have a backup generator, but the battery was bad and it didn't start automatically. We had to rig a car battery to it to make it work.

Spent the first hour getting caught up on meeting info by my supervisor, organized into piles all the paperwork from my inbox, now I am wading through e-mails; on the positive, no voice mails!

That's very sad indeed. Did they catch it early at least?

Morning, nerds. On the early morning shift this week; people don't stop by very often so I could stream and catch up on Game of Thrones but the occasional nudity may not be a good idea if a co-worker does waltz into the little transmissions cave.

It never gets easy, but as we get older, we have to learn to deal with letting go of the old generation... It's the way of life, and one thing we can do to make sure they live a life without too much tragedy is to outlive them. A parent losing a child can destroy a person, a child losing a parent is the way it should be, as painful and unfair as it feels when it happens.
