...it's a moot point anyway, I couldn't get into that particular T-shirt with a crowbar and lube.

And now we find out that they're dropping the Gifted/Talented program for the elementary students. It doesn't really effect us, because Connor is headed to junior high next year. But both boys loved and thrived in the program and a lot of smart kids aren't going to have the opportunity now to meet with peers, be challenged and realize they aren't the only ones who are a little ahead of the curve and maybe a little different.
Mrs. Aston has been incredible for both boys and we can't say enough about how she and the program have helped them when school could well have otherwise been an unbearable grind.
We, as a society, continually marginalize our best and brightest rather than looking to them to help move us forward. At the rate we're going we deserve to be a nation of inbred mouth-breathers.
I'm becoming physically ill at the thought of what's happening to our schools and our kids.
