I've seen it a couple of other times. Absolutely obsessed with their "high I.Q." and how dumb others are while incapable of spelling or writing a sentence. And they have two or three talking points that are their response to every situation. This one is a bit more single minded, but essentially the same. I've seen it enough that it seems less like shtick and more like a pathology.

so....I found out two horrid things about my job

1) an email goes out yesterday from our GM saying that everyone needs to "focus" as we go through AC season and try to recover from the mild winter....which is company speak for "take vacation time and you are first on the block if we need to do layoffs"

2) 2 employees...one CSR and one tech who gave their two weeks notice were let go on the spot

I guess that sucks for them, but they gave their two weeks notice. They were on their way out of their own accord. Two weeks notice is a courtesy to the company, one they have no obligation to accept.
