Default Was Rogue right about Nightcrawler?

    *Spoilers*

In the latest X-men Legacy, Rogue states that if Kurt were there maybe the schism wouldn't have happened. Do you agree with her? Would Kurt have been enough to keep the X-men together?

I'm kinda split on this subject. I think Wolverine and Cyclops were at the point that they were gonna split no matter what, but I also contribute a lot of both of their current behaviors to Kurt's death. I think when Nightcrawler died is when the schism really kinda started. It took a big part out of the X-men.

Also, if he was still around and the schism did still happen, would he have went with Wolverine? I think he would, but then again I thought Storm, Jubilee, and Domino were shoe-ins to go with Wolverine too.

Kurt would be with Wolverine 100%. I cannot see him wanting to be on an "Extinction Team," unless he stayed with Ororo as another voice of reason character in hopes of controlling Scott.

    She is always right!....

He would have spit out some belief stuff to Logan and he would have never left...

If there was a schism still, I think he would have been on scott's side. He has approving on of Scotts beliefs in Hope. I mean he did give up his life.

Yes, I think Rogue had a good point. The schism might have still happened because of philosophical differences, but the fight between Logan and Scott that escalated so badly to start it probably wouldn't have happened had Kurt been there. Seriously, if he had been written true to form, he would have either teleported one of them away until things cooled off or stood in between them to prevent it happening. If the parting still occurred after that, it would have been after a lot of debate, and Kurt would have been pretty severely pissed I think.

I think he would have gone with Logan definitely. Not because of friendship, but because of philosophy. Logan doesn't want to hide mutant kids away, he wants the world to learn to accept them, and that was one of the fundamental ways Nightcrawler was a representation of Xavier's dream. The school is also about trying to keep the kids out of the fighting and letting them just be kids, and Kurt would've been all about that as well. But as far as choosing one set of friends in favour of another, I think he would have sided with neither. I don't think he would've bought into the whole thing of barely being on speaking terms with the opposite side (barring the couple of long distance relationships like Rogue and Magneto and Kitty and Piotor for awhile). I just can't see that. I also don't think he would be as tolerant as Hank and Kitty are about the existence of X-Force.

    That dialogue was sentimental filler.

Logan put his doppelganger on X-Force.

I can't think of a bigger "Fuck You Kurt" he could have given.

I think it still would've happened. Rogue was projecting some guilt over not saying anything there. I also think he would've stayed with Scott. Not cause he didn't believe in what Logan was doing but because he would've wanted to play the role Ororo's supposed to be playing in the team, voice of reason. Plus he believes in Hope and all that.

Believing in Hope and believing in using kids as soldiers are two different things though. :(

Yes, hence why he would've stayed, to ensure no lines are crossed the way they were with Idie. If he would've survive saving Hope I think he would've been the liason to Gen Hope and not Rogue/Kitty. I got to wonder what he would've said about Kenji's little crucification stunt.

No one listened to NC, so it wouldn't've made a difference. Sadly, he was more of a pet at the end.

Rather than asking if Schism would've still happened and what side he would have chosen, it might be better just to ask who was writing him to determine if he did anything other than add blue tones to a panel.
