    Default Guardians of the Galaxy

Kevin Feige Spills Guardians of the Galaxy News

When asked for to confirm that an upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie would be focused on the new team, as opposed to the original team, created in 1969 which had their own well-received series from Jim Valentino in the 1990s, he clarified: "Yeah. It's more Star-Lord and Drax and Gamora, and less Vance Astro and that team."

    Ugh.

I know that the Starlord, Gamora, et al team has its fans, but to me, the REAL Guardians of the Galaxy are Vance Astro, Charlie-27, Martinex, Yondu, Starhawk, Aleta, and Nikki! I would much rather see a movie (or an animated straight to video flick) starring this team. I'm surprised they haven't gotten a cartoon or something in all these years!

So, this is also supposed to be a live action film then, not an animated feature or something like that?

Exactly what I was wondering, it's weird to me that a live action film would get made. Not totally impossible, but just seems like they'd be taking a big chance and the budget on the film would have to be quite large to do it justice.

Sci-fi space opera movies >>> black movies. When talking in dollars.

I agree w/y. Seeing that the original GoftG have a more tragic tale than this group ( or I could be wrong, seeing that I never read this current team). I'm not excited so far,but maybe I'll change my mind later.

Sounds cool to me either way. In both cases, some less famous Marvel characters get exposure they usually wouldn't. What I'm wondering is how they'll manage to juggle so many characters with such complex backstories. Heck, I practically need a guidebook to understand Adam Warlock alone.

Yeah. It seems like the old team would be better material for interesting storylines too, having developed pasts and not being Surfer level and such.

I love GoTG but this movie makes me so nervous because I just can't see anyway they can do it justice without a budget far beyond what its likely to bring in. The CGI for Rocket Raccoon and Groot alone will be immense unless they go old school with puppets and animotronics.
Price your book at $3.99 and I'll trade wait. Make me wait too long for the trade PAPERback and I'll say screw it. I'm looking at you Marvel and Spider Island.

This would be great, glad to hear such excitement over the script.
Wonder how they'll pull it off without the Avengers approach, seems like a lot of characters to balance while establishing the Marvel spaceways.

God I hope they don't screw this up. Given the characters involved (Adam Warlock??!!), this could turn out to be one of my favourite comic movies ever.

So no doubt it'll end up sucking.

Having a group of characters on a team in a movie isn't something new.

I hope Rocket Raccoon is in it. I remember buying his first appearance when I was a kid and loving it because the Beatles song was one of my favourites. Never thought I'd see him in a movie.
