This was probably my favorite issue so far, based on the cover I was expecting just another brawl but the interaction between Kara and the Silver Banshee was amazing. This was really the issue I was waiting for since the book started, we really got to know more about Kara as a person and I loved it. I hope Silver Banshee sticks around for a while.
I think it was Green who said how impressed he about the quality Asrar could deliver at the speed he draws. The only reason Supergirl had a fill-in was because Asrar had a baby and spent a few weeks with it. I think in terms of fill-in artists we lucked out with Perez.
I really like this take on Silver Banshee. There is so much more...inventiveness?...to the character and the powers than the last time we saw her in Sterling Gates (no offense) lackluster run.

I thought it was kinda funny that she had an Irish accent while speaking Kryptonian the whole time. My brain started to melt if I thought about it too long. So I stuck with focusing on a heavy Irish accent on English words instead.
The awesomeness that was Silver Banshee more than made up for the asshat soldiers acting like...well like how no would would act like.
I wouldn't say Perez's art was poor, but I did miss Asrar. With its budding friendship, this issue would have especially benefitted from the emotiveness Asrar puts into his faces.
Same Day: Batgirl, Supergirl, WW, DemonK, JLD, Dial H, Earth 2, SoS
Maybe Later: Action, GL, Aqua, DCUP, Titans, Firestorm, Animal, Swampy, Batwoman, Worlds F, JL, Flash, PhantomS, BoP, GL: NG
I didnt like the plot nor the art of this issue. The soldiers were too stupid, and i didnt like how her first friend will obviously become her archnemesis. The Irish accent also got on my nerves. But it's nice to see Kara settling down.
Looks like DC's still using the reboot to ape Marvel's "a world that fear and hates them" shtick, now required to be shooed in whenever possible. It wouldn't be quite so bad if they didn't depict Superman as the most beloved super-hero around and now has regular contact with a member of the military higher-ups, General Lane.
So Supergirl goes right from the NY fight to Silver Banshee? This is still set before her appearing in Superman and Superboy, I guess.
If Silver Banshees da is Black Banshee, is her ma White Banshee?
Every time I read some one saying they don't like Perez art, I shake my head in disbelief.

i hope Mahmud's wife had the baby- if he somehow gave birth then it's the most amazing thing ever!
i loved the story and as usual i LOVED the art. i too shake my head, sir...
and yeah, as was mentioned - i got those issues she guest stars in. the Superboy appearance is better. her speaking so nonchalantly to Superman and the wording itself- weird.
funny.
"hey Mr. Suicidal Man- you don't like this building designed by the great Frank Lloyd Wright? then go jump off of that shitty building built by Robert Liefeld!"

Wonderful issue. As much as I've loved Asrar's art on the book so far, we didn't miss anything by having George fill in this month. The guy's certainly still got it.
And this issue should shut up anyone that's still got a problem with the so-called decompression happening on this book. Wait, what am I talking about - each issue could be War & Peace and it still wouldn't be enough for some.![]()
