Maguire is an artist on the book, along with Perez. One does the past stories, and one does the present stories, but its all written by Levitz.

E-2 looks bad because so far it looks like Earth-Cry For Justice, which was not only bad but killed off Lian Harper, made Red Arrow lose his arm and turn into an anti-hero, and made the main character confuse 'justice' with 'revenge'.

You're probably thinking of Earth 2 that book looks worse and worse

Are we talking about the same book that is being written by James Robinson and drawn by Nicola Scott? Because that is Earth 2. Maguire is involved with World's Finest.

P.S./EDIT - Never mind, I figured out what was going on. However, why is everyone bashing Earth 2? Seems like it should be solid.

Essentially spoilers.

They never want to actually reveal anything over what usually seems fear Marvel's going to hear about it. Or even different departments/editors in DC who may be doing something as familiar. And yeah, people talk and probably know all this stuff already, there's way too much of a "cone of silence" mentality when it comes to talking about anything at cons. It doesn't help with having any conversations with the fans when all you hear is "Keep reading" or "There are plans for that".

And I"m not even talking about the fans whose questions are essentially asking for spoilers to begin with since they don't count. Cause, do they really think their questions will be answered?

DC tends to not announce anything at these panels. All they seem to do is give quick summaries of things that have already happened and maybe mention thing found in solicitations. They don't say anything that most fans don't already know.

And they actually don't like publicity. Or at least, they used to. When Levitz was the publisher the story always going around was DC didn't want publicity for fear that the higher ups among the Time Warner conglomerate would actually wonder how much money DC Comics was making them when Levitz at that time had them well hidden inside the entire magazine/publishing departments of the company so it didn't look like they were doing that bad.

This is why you may have heard the stories how DC didn't want the Death of Superman to get as widespread news attention as it did when it happened and was one of the reasons why when news about Kathy Kane being the new Batwoman as well as being lesbian first came out you then saw DC shy away from the book for the next three years.

What the new hierarchy thinks of publicity is obviously different at this time.
