AvX #2 Preview: They're Trying Really Hard to Make Cyclops Look Crazy

Really? I'm looking at AvX #1 now, where Captain Americas says "We need to take Hope into protective custody." That seems like interest to me.

Since The NA issue has him intending to put her in a more vulnerable position, how is "protective custody" anything but a lie.?

Right now she is protected by some of the most powerful people on earth who will protect her off-world?

Anyone else think it's a little silly to see Petey and Logan interact this way? The two of them have been best friends for years. C'mon Marvel...you could have thrown in a little bit of dialogue to make it more believable and bearable. Bah!

I love it how many of the people who used to say Hope was a shit stain on the X-Verse, needs to be killed dead, and is as useless as Jean Grey's corpse (when she isn't being treated as dues ex machina), are now are holding her up on a Pedestal just because Captain America wants to take her to CPS as a result of her being part of a cult, not going to school, and being a violent vigilante.

If Wolverine killed Hope two years ago you would all have been chearing and saying Bishop was right. But no, all you need is Cable to go into a random future and have Blaquesmith feed him propaganda to stroke his ego then you all jump on the Hope is mutant jesus parade.

Negative. As witnessed in UXM10. He's still in control (mostly when not in Juggy mode). And he's not in Juggy mode in that AvX2 panel.

I'm still reading the replies but based on what I'm not sure what to make of this story.

I mean, its really bad so far. I won't even get into how bad the characterization is, but even
the fight itself is a horrible read.

What is Captain America thinking? If I was planning on invading Utopia, the LAST thing I'd bring
is a Friggin Helicarrier!!

Couldn't Magneto rip it apart in seconds? That's another thing that I don't get with the preview.
Why did he throw Colossus in there when he can just tear it to shreds? We've seen Magneto
perform much bigger feats that would make destroying the Helicarrier no big deal

And to answer the OP, Yes, of course Cyclops is going to be portrayed as the bad guy.
When you have an Avengers Writer doing this book followed by an Avengers Movie
in the horizon, of course the X-Men are going to look like the bad guys.

However, they aren't doing the Avengers big favors either. The Teen Titans could
lead a better assault than what the Avengers are doing so far, lol.
