Would you be OK if Marvel race-switched Nick Fury (a la Psylocke)?

Given how pervasive Samuel L Jackson's image as Nick Fury is now to a new generation, and how Marvel is trying to be 'new reader accessible', would you freak if - like British Psylocke being trapped in the body of someone from another race - Marvel did this to 616 Nick?

While I think it's contrived, I have no problem with it so long as it's still NICK FURY, who's one of my favorite characters and a total bad@$$. If they do some Marcus Johnson switchero and 'pretend' he's kinda/sorta Nick Fury who looks like Sam Jackson, that's just stupid, IMO. I'd rather have some in-story reason for Nick suddenly looking like Sam Jackson - maybe he's being hunted and gets reconstruction surgery or something - although that's contrived, too, as Nick's been out in the pubic as a known entity for decades, and has LMDs to boot.

I love Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury in the movies. He's a fantastic actor and I think he does a great job as Fury.

In the comics...I could go with the traditional look or with them switching to Jackson's image. They're both 'Nick Fury' in my mind. (And to be totally honest, I rather prefer Sam Jackson's looks over the comic book Fury.) I'm not particularly attached to the character though. Long time fans who are very fond of the character might feel differently.

just for the record. i really like Nick Fury's current look. i like it more than Samuel L Jackson. Nick is cool-looking. he's so cool-looking that they've copied his look for other characters.

I'd rather have Marcus Johnson and deal with that mess than just "make" Nick Fury more like the Ultimate version. The original is freaking Nick freaking Fury for crying out loud! Either do him right and keep him the way he is, or do the next best thing and give him a respectable death/retirement for a while and let Marcus Johnson become an interesting character. Change can be good if handled right.

A Kirby creation like Nick Fury should be something Marvel respects, rather than be ashamed of.
