I think the idea is to make the reader feel the characters with the memory loss and time-gaps they can't explain which have been part of the storyline. But I'm not saying that's a good idea, not unless you execute it perfectly.

It's amazing . . . I grew up with Babs as Batgirl, and really wasn't reading comics for a good stretch of the time that she was Oracle.
I also wasn't reading much during Cassandra's time as Batgirl, and while I did enjoy what I did read of Stephanie's run, Barbara Gordon has always been Batgirl in my mind.
But why do some people have to go and make me hate the return of Babsgirl sometimes?
Would spoiler tags kill people?
Pull list:

Some people had very different reading experiences than yours, in terms of timing. If you grew up (in comics) with Babs as Oracle, it's really jarring to suddenly have that glossed over or retconned with an off-panel cure and now she's a young Batgirl again. Post-crisis, there weren't even very many Babsgirl stories, and the ones that were done were written post The Killing Joke so you always knew it was basically a prequel for where the character was destined to go.Originally Posted by MajorHoy

Great issue. Duane Swierzcynski is giving this title new life.
And the crack about the shirtless operative not being in a state of undress for "your benefit", hilarious!
