It wasnt that hard to follow. The question is why they hijacked the choke story for this.

But personally i love Starling, Katana and Dinah so much, that i'd read a book where they watch paint dry with Katana talking to her husband about it. Honestly.

Gentlemen, it occurs to me that many here are saying BoP is receiving alot of criticism for having an arc that has yet to finish yet, but I have only noticed they are the same who rejoice whenever Snyder's Batman is released, which is, if I am not mistaken, a 12-issue arc. Is this not hypocritical? The arc will end by #8 when it is revealed Choke works for the Court, so the hypocracy is even more revealing....

The choke story wasn't hijacked. That arc ended. They're still looking for him, but they have to deal with Dinah's problems at the moment. Don't think of them as separate arcs, but as one BoP story. We're going off from when notChoke revealed Dinah's husband killing and Starling called her a murderer.

I'm excited to learn why she killed the husband. I want to know why Starling's being hunted, next, and who her lady friend is, and why Ivy has cinnamon swirls in every bite. This book is so exciting. I want it to come out every day.

The choke story isn't over, but first round is for now. I don't know when he'll be mentioned again, but Starling is still messed up and maybe Dinah, since the guy who took out her choke chip was working for choke. or something.

I thought issue was okay but what happend to choke storyline? just seems moved on different storyline, a least got backstory on Black Canary past wonder what happend to her husband did she kill him? Plus she worked as spy probably how she met Starling. Also wonder if Katana held responsible killing that innocent dude who mind controlled by choke.

Thinking back, I read one of Duane's novels, the first in the trilogy of books he's got right now (Either Hell and Gone or Fun and Games, sort of forget) but this jump in the middle of a cluster-f is actually pretty similar to his style on his novels, now that I think about it. Only difference is with the novel you can keep reading, here we have to wait a month. I mean, I enjoy everything he's done on Birds, more than the entirety of the second volume, but I think it may ultimately read better in trade.

Some people defend the too long arc of Batman and Robin too.

So readers are having issues with unnending arcs from what I've read here with:

    Batman
    Batman & Robin
    Birds Of Prey

Similar issue of too long arcs have been accused to also be going on in:

    Batwing
    Batwoman
    Nightwing

Meanwhile Gail Simone on Batgirl as of issue #9 is moving on to her 4th arc with Night Of Owls crossover and then on to Knightfall and her 3 female meta hench-ladies, on TOP of the danger of James Jr. lurking about in the wings. Some can say what they will about Gail's current style, but there is absolutely no denying that she is moving events along at a good pace and not lingering too long anywhere in Batgirl's title, while still all the while continuing to have a clear path of character progression for the lead.
    Pull list:
Adventure Time, Batgirl, Batman & Robin, BOP, Earth 2, Guardians of the Galaxy, He-Man, Katana, Nightwing, Shadowman, Swamp Thing, The Ultimates, Ultimate Spider-Man, Worlds' Finest

It wasnt that long compared to this and at least it had a coherent pacing of the events
it didnt really waste any scenes
thought the same story could had been wrap in 7-6 issues

    but this
8 issues in and i stil dont know who is Starling

The first arc of Batman and Robin could have been done in 3/4 issues. And I find it boring because we have seen it before.

    To each their own.

This book has been consistently good so far, and this issue was no exception IMO.

Definitely--as a single issue it's a whole lot of fun. I'm just having a problem with how the writer is formatting and pacing the series as a whole.
