I think the idea is to make the reader feel the characters with the memory loss and time-gaps they can't explain which have been part of the storyline. But I'm not saying that's a good idea, not unless you execute it perfectly.

It's possible her husband took Dinah's last name, instead.

Out with the OLD and in with the reformulated NEW, that's what I say as a reader! Don't worry about Helena Bertinelli though, DC has to maintain their trademarks on characters. It may be awhile but rest assured the second version of the Huntress will be back someday.

It's amazing . . . I grew up with Babs as Batgirl, and really wasn't reading comics for a good stretch of the time that she was Oracle.

I also wasn't reading much during Cassandra's time as Batgirl, and while I did enjoy what I did read of Stephanie's run, Barbara Gordon has always been Batgirl in my mind.

But why do some people have to go and make me hate the return of Babsgirl sometimes?

Depends on which "spoilers" you're talking about.

I can only guess that after the comic book has hit the racks at the comic book shops here in the U.S., they may not feel they're "spoiling" anything. (Even though some of us may not have read / bought the issue yet.)

Not only has the book already come out, but the thread is labeled spoilers. One would think that would be enough warning for anyone who hadn't read the book yet.

Yes, but there's no warning that something which happened in (the preview of) World's Finest #1 would be spoiled in this thread. Which I'm assuming is what Shimarenda is referring to.

Ah yes, that's a different story. I always get a bit pissed off when someone spoils something in one thread that's from another book entirely.

    Because it's terrible.

It could have been good. Pretty easily, really. But sadly, Simone would have none of that.

It's not even the mediocre-to-lame stories that are my biggest problem . . . more like excessive, unwarrented cheerleading which almost seems to gloat.

Some people had very different reading experiences than yours, in terms of timing. If you grew up (in comics) with Babs as Oracle, it's really jarring to suddenly have that glossed over or retconned with an off-panel cure and now she's a young Batgirl again. Post-crisis, there weren't even very many Babsgirl stories, and the ones that were done were written post The Killing Joke so you always knew it was basically a prequel for where the character was destined to go.

Yes, you are right. Sorry to be unclear, everyone, but anger got the better of me.

Great issue. Duane Swierzcynski is giving this title new life.

And the crack about the shirtless operative not being in a state of undress for "your benefit", hilarious!
