in the comics Hawkeye is not an agent, in the movie Hawkeye is an agent
in the comics Iron Man is an agent, in the movie Iron Man is not an agent
Nick Fury and Black Widow are agents both in the comics and in the movie, so it's safe to assume that she will be an agent only.

I think they follow the story lines when it comes to who gets to be SHIELD agent only characters. Like Shadowcat, she's one of the few X-Men who were SHIELD agents, so they make her an agent only for the X-Men months. Iron Patriot (Norman Osborn) replaced Iron Man as a director of SHIELD when he defeated the Skrulls, he then later change his organization to HAMMER. In the series "Iron Man: Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.", Rhodes was featured in the storyline "War Machine: Weapon of S.H.I.E.L.D." While in the air force, Thing served as a pilot to Nick Fury for a top secret mission (doesn't specifically say SHIELD mission though.) In 2003 Venom series, The Symbiotes alien suit (Venom clones) was made an agent by Nick Fury. In the 2008 Deadpool series, he is working for Nick Fury in "Secret Invasion" tie-in. Ultimate Thor joins Nick Fury "The Ultimates" team in the ultimate universe.

As you can see, all of the SHIELD agent only characters have background working for SHIELD in their history.
One character I'm surprised is not a SHIELD agent is Spider-Woman

Friday wasnt the first. Besides she is Avengers Black Widow meaning she needs to be released with the rest of the Avengers NOT during Spider month. Now if it was classic Black Widow than I can understand that.

well you know, updates are usually on Wednesday not Friday. I also remember when they released Pure Elektra (I believe) they released her at the first week of March when it "supposes" to be 1960s Avengers-theme month. They may do it with Black Widow, releasing her this Wednesday with the new Spider theme. And as to why they delayed her release, I really don't know the true reason, only guesses and speculations. But I'm grateful for all the existing stuffs we already have in game to play, heck I still have like 6 characters left to get! (and many more cards to collect).

Well, could you please find out the answer to my question concerning Avengers Black Widow, there is really no excuse they could not have released her during Avengers month where she really belongs.

PLEASE be nice to SHSO server guy. He's all we got. In the past he's made it clear he is not able to comment on game content. Though he may be able to pass on your frustration, don't aim it AT him.

I know you didn't intend to. When I initially read the post I thought it way improper and of course the more I read it the less it seems so.

I agree, people assume because the Amazing Spiderman movie comes out in July, that the SHSO new theme have to be Spider related and have to be in July, those are assumptions only, never the fact (not that I know of). But from the wiki, we can see that 4 new Spider-related characters are coming to SHSO, though they don't say when exactly.

Only real proof of spider month is because the mass appearance of spider characters in the code, nothing else besides this is valid proof.

For me, only we will get an Spiderman movie version this month.. if we are lucky. But I'm not sure.

I don't think we will get Amazing Spider-Man (movie version) as a playable character, first, it's not in the game code, second the movie version's owned by Sony not Marvel, Marvel will have to pay Sony a lot of money to use its character, which I don't think they will do (they have a lot of options from the comics to use anyway). We have Anti-Venom, Arachne, Iron Spider and Spider-Man 2099 coming up, I just hope that we will get them all within July and not dragging them out into September.

I know there's no real proof, but it's highly likely. I doubt they will stop with their themed months, but that doesn't mean it's coming next month. They've already added a bunch of X-men characters in the codes, so that may come next too. It's just likely they'll come out with a Spider Man month/theme (who knows how long it'll last) next because the movie is going to be out.

Hey, True Believers! Finally watched the series finale of The Avengers: EMH, it was AMAZING....don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it, but, there are some interesting heroes I'd like to see in-game AND an antagonist who SHOULD be. I'll get back on topic before the mods get too upset.

I agree, it was awesome. Of all the Marvel cartoons over the years Avengers EMH is becoming one of the better ones with some really good story lines. As much as the die hards will always refer back to the comics, the movies and cartoons must have a far greater reach with kids these days - the game should definitely tap that wealth of material.
