I was just about to post this. I was hoping she wouldnt fly but on the other hand maybe the whining around here will die down.

Still, i wish Johns had some consistency. Why would GL give her a lift if she can fly? WTF is going on with this book? Do they even care?

Sad to say, it looks like whining and petulance are going to be a regular feature from several sources -- with all the beams of lumber in folks' eyes around here, it's amazing that mote-plucking is as popular as it is.

I'm not even upset, or at least specifically upset, about this. But I don't think it's possible to escape the conclusion: they don't seem to be working like they used to. It's a crystal clear example of depowerment.

They didnt work against a god's weapon...even Ares' unbreakable chest armor couldn't stand up to that.

You're right. If not destroy the bracelets, the Omega Beams should definitely be able to go around and hit her. They should also had vaporised Superman.

But like always, it's up to the writer. Darkseid was just a hunk of rock that walked around shooting lasers. Johns hasnt shown any care concerning JL. He just writes things on a piece of paper.

Hence Wonder Woman hitching a ride one issue and carrying planes the next. I don't think he's paying attention, that's why flying in JL doesn't count. She did a lot of running and jumping in WW 8 to be able to fly.

As so many people were trying to convince us that the arrows the centaurs used were godly enhanced and that is how it harmed Hermes, why then didn't the arrows pierce threw her bracelets when she blocked them?

They might have been godly enhanced, but they werent the weapons and source of power of a god. There's a difference between an enchanted weapon and.... uh... the infinity gauntlet or Mjolnir.

Hermes tells us that Gods are immortal, not invulnerable in issue 5. How do we know that standard weaponry can't hurt them? I've never seen anybody argue that Hermes got wounded only because the arrows were magic, while in this case we know for sure that the weapon is enchanted.
It only proves that Wonder Woman reflex and speed are the same as usual, because she can see and react to the bullet being shoot at her.

Location: the middle of nowhere. The enemies: two random monsters.
No building to destroy, no damage to be done, just a quick one on one.
WW is still fast enough to see and understand that an arrow is coming their way. Some said that she appeared weak, since the arrow threw her to the ground, but that's a mistake: The strength of the arrow didn’t throw her to the ground, she threw herself to it. Look at the angle in the page.
But, despite being on the ground and a centaur soons attacks her, she needs mere seconds to decide what to do, and those are all pretty elaborate ideas: not simply kill the two monsters, but save the girl, steal their weapons, she gives us great showing of aim and agility.
These are not enemies she needs to use her superpowers on, they’re barely a threat and she treats them so, still humiliating them while remaining completely unscathed.

To protect Zola, Diana threw herself the fastest way she could, but to intercept the arrow she had to take a stance that made her fall on the ground. It wasn't the strenght of it, she had to fall down.
