    DC Comics has renamed its DC Direct product line DC Collectibles and announced the launch of an online storefront which will offer its full collectibles catalog along with special exclusive items.

    I agree SJNeal. You'd think they would have done this a long time ago. It's good that they're doing it now. Hopefully they'll do a lot of characters that wouldn't normally sell at TRU.

    And of course the biggest problem with TRU is that they get lured into OVERbuying the movie tie-ins. The local one here dropped their entire Marvel Universe line to make room for Iron Man 2, Captain America and Thor movie figures, they've still got an entire section of Transformers that are over six months old, and don't get me started on the Green Lantern toys that will have to be pushed around for Batman. [WalMart's worse, in that they put up one case at a time after buying 100 of them… and can't figure out why no one is buying the nth Hal Jordan figure.]

    I'm glad DC is doing this. It's proving, once again, that WB is thinking towards the Internet model and not the comic book shop model — which is exactly what they need to do to survive.
