Geez, why everybody in this thread gets the wrong idea about Ultimate Gwen coming back from the dead? I have read very little Ultimate Spider-Man and even I have read the comic where they state why she came back: She isn't a clone, but a duplicate. She wasn't grown from cells or tissue from the original Gwen, the Carnage creature made a perfect duplicate of her, down to the molecular level.

What does that mean? Almost nothing in comics. However, in real life clones don't look like the original person more than a close relative, and obviously, they don't share memories. But in real life, a duplicate like what the Carnage creature made, would look exactly like Gwen, would have the same memories as Gwen and for all intents and purposes, would be Gwen. In fact, some theories about how to make a teleporting machine state that it would only be possible by scanning the subject and then sending the information to a far away place to then make a duplicate using local matter. The original subject would get destroyed/killed in the process. So, if you don't think this kind of duplicate is the real you, try to not get teleported in the future .

As for the crossover itself: I think it's lame. I know that Joe Quesada has a right to change his mind about what he said years ago, but why he has to change it with the things I agreed with? Why can't he change his mind with the stuff I dislike (and no, it wasn't One More Day)?

Whatever. I'll probably read it anyway, but only if I can borrow it from someone or buy it if it really gets good reviews from someone I trust. Can't be fairer than that.

I'm still excited, if only for Miles.

Why can't Quesada change his mind? Maybe it would have been a horrible idea a few years ago, but now it may work.

How about we all get the poles out of our asses and actually enjoy this crossover? If you don't want to read it, then don't.

I really can't take all the whining about this. It's an opportunity for an exciting story. Marvel has always done things with characters visiting alternate Universes in the past. This is only different because at some point in the past an important writer said they'd never do it. If you don't like the story, don't read it.. but don't start claiming that the whole Ultimate Universe is ruined. There are no rules when it comes to fictional stories. They're for fun. Spider-Man will return to his Universe and be the same Spider-Man and Miles Morales will remain in his with a greater understanding of what it means to take up the Spider-Man mantle, and possibly some sweet web shooters. Spider-Man is THE Marvel character. It's only appropriate that he be the one to make the big cross over onto this forbidden turf. Just sit back and enjoy it.

Besides, both Universes exist alongside an infinite number of other alternate Universes. Who knows how many of them have a Peter Parker exactly like ours or a Miles Morales like ours? If Universe lines can be crossed in Marvel Comics, there's always a chance of a Peter Parker showing up in Miles' New York.

That said, if I had my way, there would be no travel between alternate Universes ever in any comic. I think it's lame when it happens, but I've learned to accept it because I'm not the guy who writes the comics. If everything happened exactly how I wanted it, I'd be pretty damn bored every Wednesday.

I agree with that, the alternate universes are just a constant reminder that all the heroics are really worthless since in every other reality the heroes will generally be dead, under villain rule, have become villains themselves or whatever. There are apparently infinite universes where characters we know and love, made a slightly different choice and had their eyes gouged out by the Red Skull for their trouble or have Sandman explode them from the inside out. It's pretty depressing to think about really. If they want to tell stories in a different universe, fine, but don't legitimize them by confirming they exist alongside 616 or allowing travel there.

As for the crossover, it's a cheap way of boosting Morales profile and should be treated as such. There is no necessary story that needs to be told there that couldn't be told with a young hero in the 616 verse like Anya where it might actually matter.

I doubt his hair is blond. I'm sure it will be brown when it's colored. Just like the bottom have is just inked for a shadowy effect.

Here's the Deodato variant cover for Spider-Men #4, from Marvel.com.

    That cover blows my mind.
