I'd rather call that an abyss. That is my problem with these kind of lists made by English-speaking readers: I wouldn't mind a full English language comics list, but what are Tintin and Yotsubato doing in it? If you're going to include European and Japanese stuff, they should fill about two thirds of the list. Otherwise, those two aliens make no sense, it is as if I compiled a list of the best writers ever and only listed European authors except, say, Faulkner and Kawabata, just to show that I can name at least someone from America and Japan.

BTW, I guess everybody knows Tintin, but I heartily recommend the little known Yotsubato: it is probably my favourite running series (too bad that it is bi-monthly, and tri-monthly sometimes), and it features the best child ever seen in a comic book. She is so incredibly realistic (even though she is drawn as a caricature in contrast with the other characters in the series) that my girlfriend and I usually refer to her as if she were a real person. Odd, I know, but Yotsuba feels more alive than many people I know.

BTW, I'm glad that you liked B&M, but when are you going to check this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Valerian-Vol...dp/1849180873/ and discover where the Star Wars production designers borrowed some of their ideas from?

Oops. Accidentally ordered volume 1 of Valerian, even though I've already more than bought my quota of comics for the month. Drat those twitchy fingers.

Mmm, I hope that you aren't disappointed by Vol.#1, because although there's a lot to like in it, Christin's narrative still feels unpolished (that's why I recommended Vol.#2 to begin with). But the art by Mézières is wonderful, and it is fascinating when you compare it with Kamandi's New York, considering that it was published four years earlier than Kirby's wonderful series. Just keep in mind that Valérian has a lot more to offer than The City of Shifting Waters!
