PAD's the only writer who ever made Lorna & Alex work imo. Super excited he's taking a hard look at their relationship.

Also good news that he'll be delving into Clonaris Origins. :3

Doesn't mean you can't modify it or throw on a trenchcoat over it. Something to add to the detective agency aspect of the book.

Great interview. Excited about the upcoming Monet/Guido stuff and the Layla story sounds fantastic.

I'd also love to know what he really thinks about Red Hulk/Red She-Hulk.

I can't wait for PAD to tackle Polavok. Its obvious they're together just to be together and have lost a sense oif their own identities. Finally someone will end these 90's relationships that are just around to be around. Jean and Cyke, Rogue and Gambit, Colossus and Kitty, Dazzler and Longshot and finally Havok and Polaris.

I'm all about the girls road trip. Can't wait to see what they get into.

Uhm...Havok and Polaris are a 60's relationship that's just around to be around. And examining their relationship, if they're together because they should be together or just because they've always been together was something he was looking at in his original run, that was then abandoned, so glad he's going to tackle that again.

On the costumes, What I want to know is about the X-Factor badges! In the earlier issues, they looked more like Trek Communicators or something but that was never gone into. Inquiring minds want to know.

And I, of course, know who Harry Chapin, was....a number of songs constantly float in my subconcious pushing to get stuck in my head at any moment.

Rictor should go back to his punk/leather/teen/fetish look. Seems appropriate.

Good PAD interview, as always. I liked the hints about Guido/Monet and the road trip, and 'Run Layla Run' sounds excellent fun. I agree that they seemed strangely silent about the Shatterstar/Longshot story; I'm sure some people would have asked questions about it. Perhaps there's a separate article planned; if he does actually explain the connection it'll be the end of a classic, long-running bit of Marvel WTFery so maybe worth some more attention.

I think that page where the team's all looking 'whaaa?' at something is probably them finding out about Jamie/Layla. They're not in the picture.
'Old' X-Factor still had distinctive uniforms and classy ones at that. Rictor's was actually one of my favorites of that set.

cant wait to see guido and M's date and the whole layla issue work out. Suprised that no questions about the leadership were addressed so im guessing from the panels shown in the interview that its gonna be resolved real soon. Cant wait to see new or modified costmues for havok and polaris hope they add the awesome x-factor belt buckle to their attire

I'm under the impression that Didio doesn't like PAD. That could be fan rumor though (or even something made up in my deranged mind...). But, he worked with both Bob Harras and especially Bobbie Chase so a DC return wouldn't be unheard of (though I have no idea if he's still a Marvel Exclusive or not)

    I love X-Factor and Pad's x-positions. They're always so good.

I'm so glad PAD is writing Polavok (I'm sold on the portmanteau BTW), AND that he's giving their relationship a good hard look.

I don't necessarily want them to break up if there's a good reason for it not to happen, besides "it's been around since the 60s", which didn't save Jenscott.

I'm just starting to collect the new X-Factor trades, and looking forward to when I can finally get all caught up. :D

You're right, of course - and yeah, those Ryan Sook/Dennis Calero costumes were really good, kind of formal without being spandex. When I wrote my post I was thinking more of Raimondi's later designs, which were almost no uniform at all.

What a horrid position PAD is in, just plain horrid. X-Factor is an old school book struggling to stay afloat in NuMarvel's sea of foolishness.

As for Polaris this is the only costume that I found that looks like it could work with X-Factor.Click image for larger version.
