Default Riley (Buffy) vs Blade (movies)

    Scenario:

Basically the same as the time he saw Angel take down a group of intiative mooks, only instead of Angel there its Blade.

Riley has his basic Initiative gear for this fight, Blade has his usual equipment as well.

Can Riley bring in the daywalker for study or does he end up worm chow on the end of Blade's blade.

Angel won that fight, Buffy stomps Riley.

Blade can take both Buffy and Angel at the same time.

    Riley is pretty screwed.

One of Movie Blade's first scenes is him taking out a club of vampires, easily.

Well; lets give a little intial advantage to Riley.

Say Blade is taking it more like Angel did in the beginning of their fight, just trying to get the idiot to back off and leave him alone whereas Riley is going at it in full on "Dude just slept with my Girl!" frat boy rage mode.

For say the first minute of the fight he goes easy on Riley.

Does that change the odds or does he just end up dying a minute later than before?

The problem is, that's PIS, and that's not allowed here.

You could make a scenario - Blade is peacefully sleeping, Riley hears that Blade did, in fact, sleep with his girl, and then he attacks with everything he's got while Blade is out. This MIGHT give Riley one long-range shot with... something. I don't thing that standard initiative gear includes rocket launchers with mini-nuke tips or rail guns or jets carrying MOABs
though, so even with that, Blade is still gonna shove his foot down Riley's throat until he gets poop on his boot.

Doesn't change the odds at all, because for 1 minute Blade could easily dodge Riley, or flat out hold him off without throwing a punch.

The only way Riley take this fight is if Blade suffer a sudden sudden stroke from a previously undiagnosed blood disease.

    NO IT IS NOT!

That is called "no Rumbles bloodlust" or in other words having an actual story with actual characters! Having an actual story is NOT PIS!

Sorry for having caps on but that really annoys me.

I've explained this before. PIS is when a character doesn't use his full power for no reason other than the writer not wanting him to. For example, the Flash not subduing villains instantly and non-fatally with his super-speed. He has no character-specific reason to not do this; he's not toying with the villain for sport or anything, he's just not instantly stopping them because then there'd be no story. Hence Plot Induced Stupidity.

If the character has a reason to not use his full power, for example he doesn't want to kill his opponent, that is not Plot Induced Stupidity, that is just part of his character/personality. That is why in Rumbles matches we have the "Bloodlust" rule. "Bloodlust" is included so that character will go "right for the kill" even if it's not normally in their nature to do so.

Furthermore, if a poster wants to do a Rumble without "Bloodlust" (which is what Gumbo was describing, with Blade holding back at first) then that is completely allowed.

    RULES/STANDARD FIGHT SETTINGS

In most cases, the poster who originally set up the versus fight determines the conditions of the fight itself. However, in the cases where the original poster did not set down any contraints or conditions for the fight, then the match would default to the standard rules below.
If I want to post a Rumble where the character's AREN'T "Bloodlusted" then I can do that. It just means that I have to specify it.

    Calm down, take it easy.

The reason I called that PIS is that Blade does not do that to anyone attacking him. Blade, unless an author made him act totally unBladelike for the Plot (see what I did there?), would respond by killing the fool who came at him with lethal force. He's a character who has bloodlust on pretty much by default.

Of course, if you want to make a scenario where the plot you propose has him hanging back, feel free. In fact, in the same post you quoted, I scripted one up for you.

Feel free to disagree with my take, feel free to call it what you like - we're talking about the same thing anyway.

While you'd be correct for most characters, Blade has no problem whatsoever with shooting humans who attack him.

    That's what he does in-character.

But even if we ignore that, he still has stats massively superior to Riley, so it doesn't change much.

    Point taken.

Anyway, I think people are underestimating Riley here. Remember amongst other things he defeated cyborg Forrest, killed a vampire that had previously defeated Buffy and held his own against Angel. I agree he won't be able to beat Blade but I think he'll put up a fight (as long as Blade doesn't just shoot him off the bat). At the very least he won't go down as easy as some random mook.
