ADVANCE PREVIEW: "Superboy" #8

This issue was just pure crap. Timeline is a mess and the dialogue was atrocious. Why can't the writers let the art do half the talking? Why let characters restate what the art is clearly showing? What's with the monologuing from Grunge? It almost feels like a text book. That scene with Jocelyn Lure really killed it for me. Who talks like that? Why did Superboy trust her yet lament about how he can't trust anybody else? Seriously, we need a new writing team on this book ASAP. The whole scene with Rose was just weird. Why wasn't Leash shown? And that ending... Nothing about this issue was cohesive. It's a problem when I'm curious about everything else in the issue but the main showdown between Grunge and Superboy. I keep waiting for a turnaround from this book but it never comes. I'm starting to feel like Charlie Brown and DC is Lucy with the football. I don't know how much longer I can keep going with this book.

We don't need a new writing team; we need to just take Defalco off this book and let Lobdell write the script again. The book was fine before.

I dunno if Lobdell has too much work on his plate, but I wish he was solely writing the dialogue here as well. The addition of DeFalco seems to have done nothing but hurt quality. Guess SB isn't selling as well as TT or Red Hood so the attention has to be placed on the others?

Mostly because of culling event but Lobdell back solely writing in issues 9 and onwards I thought dialogue in 8 still good not great as Lobdell dialogue,
Stil thought issues 8 great issues.

I thought there was asmackdown,you know cassie hits rose,rose falls down at the end of the issue,but seriously teen titans nd superboy have been atleast half the time ass backwards in timeline,like this month,so we could see more next week,or none at all.

Hi Stephens long time no see since the DC boards got that stupid Update. I liked this months issue and last months Teen Titans, and can't wait for the action to get even better. in this issue #8 we see the New Terra and Beast Boy and wouldn't be surprised if they joined the Teen Titans down the road.

Superboy seems to get better and better, can't wait to see SB and the Titans fight as a team now and Robin will obviously be the leader a lot of the time if not the leader. Things are looking up. Can't wait to see what happens next.

hey warrior,good to see another SB fan here,this is a nice and well behaved board,so you have to behave yourself too lol.

superboy #8 was a cool issue,SB really took a beating,but gave it back,even when his power wouldnt even work on Grunge,which speaks volumes to me.

hey also i think brett booth let it out on twitter that SB wasnt the first SB,course i dont know if that means a Match type first clone,or pre flashpoint SB,but i love to speculate.

I can't say that like Grunge being an evil Sob and from the way he was talking he isn't friend with fairchild.New universe new rules i guess.

Yeah, I just know him from the Superman/Gen13 mini years back, but this seemed like a huge change.

I know I enjoyed it. Then [REDACTED] took over writing it. And I stopped enjoying it.
