I doubt Blackfire will be joining the Outlaws and it would make no sense for her to do so anyway seeing as how the Outlaws are fighting her.

I happen to agree with you, but I think your logic is faulty. I mean... how many comics begin a super hero friendship with them duking it out? I doubt there is a single DC hero who hasn't tried punching the ticket of a fellow hero, be it by misunderstanding or what, at least once.
Good logic but this is Comics, hell it's even a trope.
Check out the other folders: This happened at least once it any other medium.
Starfire is probably using Blackfire as a human shield of sorts (if you shoot at us, you might kill her.) And her face is probably horribly disfigured, hence the hair covering half her face. (And hence the "Evil". This is purely speculation, of course.)
One thing I had noticed with the last solicit: It' said that Starfire was a "feared and respected Commander", and now we see Blackfire (Komand'r) she is dressed like a sort of Princess. Maybe Lobdell switched their back stories.

When first reading the title of this thread I thought it referred to Deacon Blackfire from The Cult! It would have been cool since he's somewhat tied to Jason Todd, but considering how things went for him in that story I guess it would have required a lot of serious retconning...
While this trope has been used to great effect everywhere and while I agree that superhero friendships often come out of two such heroes duking it out I don't see that being the case here. Starfire and Blackfire have an antogonistic relationship for one and she is also the one who traded Starfire into slavery to save their planet for another. Unless something has changed drastically I don't see them becoming close chums or even see Starfire being able to trust her sister. They might be able to work together toward a common goal or against a common enemy but I don't see anything more coming of it and I certainly don't think Blackfire would join the Outlaws.Originally Posted by Dr.wonderful

Can't wait to see Blackfire in the comics. I don't think I've ever read a story involving her.
Admittedly haven't read much of "Outlaws" but.... weird cover.
I'm thinking the character in blue armor is the DCnU Blackfire and that she's holding Starfire in her arm. Red Hood and Roy are posed defensively and the main female figure seems excited but somehow not "under attack". Perhaps the cover depicts a moment from before the Outlaws are at odds with Blackfire and the Blight with the Outlaws coming aboard Blackfire's ship...
Or perhaps Lobdell was being sarcastic when he said we would "love" his Blackfire. Guess we'll just have to wait for the issue to find out.

Because he gutted the original Starfire and replaced her with someone who is diametrically opposite to the Wolfman/Perez version. And gave her a beauty mark.
Dangerous and likeable? Maybe she can join the Outlaws as well!
Oh. And Lobdell might want to start thinking up less ridiculous names for their evil organizations. The Blight? A plant disease? Really.
