I draw the line at televised shows - although every so often I'll hear about a great Superstars match, and I'll watch that. But I'm like two seasons behind on "Psych" right now (among other things), I don't think I could watch NXT or Superstars on a weekly basis unless TNA goes under. Not that I've heard anything to that effect, I just mean that I'd need to clear two hours of wrestling to start watching two more.

Sabu was rushed to the hospital this afternoon after being what police called intoxicated at his hotel room before the Extreme Reunion show. Sabu didn't appear at a fan convention before the show and people were worried.

Sabu was scheduled to face Shane Douglas in the main event. The story given was he had an allergic reaction to medication.

The show started 30 minutes late. We don't have other details other than the building was sold out with about 2,400 fans, making it probably the biggest indie show of the year in North America.

Justin Credible was kicked out from backstage after reportedly passing out.

It's 11 p.m. at this writing, fans are chanting "End the show." They have about an hour's worth of scheduled matches left.

Jerry Lynn vs. Devon Storm is stealing the show right now and turned the mood around, with "Thank You Jerry, Thank you Crowbar" chants.

Women in the crowd having been flashing their boobs.

Shane Douglas got in the ring and the natives wre chanting "refund" at him. Not exactly what you'd expect from a nostalgia crowd.

They are now ending the show with Douglas vs. Too Cold Scorpio, so apparently pulled some things from the show due to being late.

Douglas won when Tod Gordon helped him. Fans were throwing things at the ring at the end of the show.

Im nto sure if the bolded part makes this better or worse.

It probably means that there will be more. I mean, if those fans want to show up and drop money to see those guys a decade later, even an awful show won't stop them from doing it. And there will always be someone there to take their money.

Theres this called nostaligia that doesn't sustain anything long term.
ECW one night stand 2 did worse than one night stand 1, ecw revival on wwe did nothing to improve business, ECW in TNA did nothing to improve business.
ECW is dead, some of its players are dead, half of it's main event was too trashed to do the show and had to go to a hospital instead, one of the guys on the show was drunk during the show and couldn't wrestle.
    Let it end.

And THE MELTZ gave his opinion
"A year or two ago, a Bay Bombers reunion show drew 3,500 in San Francisco and the original Bay Bombers folded in 1973.

The UWA, which folded in the early 90s, had those nostalgia shows packing them in for a while in Mexico.

You can do this every few years and it'll draw, just like a high school reunion. But then you don't want to see those people again for five years, and after that much time, you get nostalgic again.

Anyone who thought that wouldn't draw once doesn't get it. Anyone who thinks it can maintain gets it even less."

For me, the issue is that there are only a few guys left who are not nostalgia acts, and you could still expect legit matches from them. It's a real short list, and WWE and TNA have those guys locked up. That's what diminishes it. If there was a show with the Dudleys, Jericho, Rey Mysterio, and RVD (and maybe Lance Storm, since he's doing ROH shots right now), plus a few assorted guys who are scattered around the globe (like Super Crazy, Psicosis, Tajiri), you could put on a good show that would deliver what the fans want. You'd still have to pad it out a bit, but in a dream world, you could still have a decent ECW reunion show. But the guys you'd want, guys like that, are better than having to do this sort of thing. So you're left with crappy wrestlers and 50-year olds, which should have tempered the fans' expectations.

I guess what I'm saying is that it's the fans' own fault. They knew what they were getting in for. If anyone went away disappointed, what the heck did they expect they were gonna get?
