Today is the anniversary of the day that nearly destroyed the industry.

    The double murder suicide.

Ugh, I had to boot up an old computer to get some files off it this week. It still had my old wallpaper - the one from Wrestlemania with Benoit and Eddie Guerrero celebrating in the ring. All I could do about that was sigh.

yeah man. im a lifelong wrestling fan and after seeing that match on PPV I was tearing up. Nowadays I, too, can only sigh haha. Such a great moment, although still great and representing the men (Benoit) at an okay-time in their life, will always have a blemish on it now.
Gotta keep my PMA (even on CBR)

I just thought of something, if Cena and Punk feud over the belt going into summerslam, thats not neccessarily a bad thing. Cena was a source of a lot of Punk's worked shoot comments and they had a good feud before and its possible that it might repeat.

I think any future premature deaths in the pro wrestling world will be tied to that incident

I can understand why they'd do Punk vs Cena since Summerslam is arguably the second biggest PPV, and Cena and Punk are probably the RAW brands biggest names.

But at the same time, it almost comes off like they're basically giving up on building up a top tier heel by using 2 faces instead.

Seeing how it ended i don't really want them to try and rehash that angle.

The "Current Plan" (TM) is that John Cena will not be on the MITB ppv so he can have a bit of time off to deal with the divorce that recently got more serious.
This is why Big Show announced he was in MITB so early, they want to build these matches up to be huge, this will also be the first time a Title match has main evented a ppv since TLC in December.

But I also hear a lot of the more "old school" guys talk about how "less is more" and people jumping around like they're in a car wreck without meaning isn't necessarily good story telling.

So I bet the cruiser weights were toned down for a variety of reasons. Though again, I do genuinely believes Vince does care.
One of his single best/most important talents ever, Steve Austin, also had years shaved off his career and had to rework his wrestling style after a nasty neck injury too... so, there's that.
Eh, Comics is a pretty cool guy...

That's one of the ones under the new plan where they just buy movies someone else made, instead of making shitty movies staring wreslters.
