F4WOnline.com reports Robert Zimmerman, WWE's Senior Vice President of Corporate Communications, Media Relations, and Public Affairs, has left the company. Additional details on his departure have not been disclosed.
-- Chief Operating Officer of WWE Triple H accompanied undefeated boxing champion Floyd Mayweather, Jr. to the ring for his highly anticipated bout against Miguel Cotto on Saturday night in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was not the only WWE talent on hand for the fight as SmackDown ring announcer Lilian Garcia also attended Saturday's festivities. Click here to view a photo of the Decade Diva with Mayweather, Jr.
-- After the official WWE website transferred Dustin "Goldust" Runnels' profile from the Raw Superstars section to the Alumni section on Friday, PWInsider.com confirmed that he was released from his contract with the organization last week. An undisclosed incident at the April 24 SmackDown taping in Grand Rapids, Michigan led to his contract being terminated. He had been working behind the scenes since suffering a shoulder injury in December 2010.
Remember this
His expliation was, the match was actually horrible as a wrestling match, but very very entertaining, so he felt giving it such a stupid rating would get his point across.
And Meltzer's comment on HHH at the mayweather fight
--Lots of talk regarding HHH in the background holding up Floyd Mayweather's title belt last night, because on TV he appeared to be fine just days after his "broken arm". Apparently, he was wearing a brace to sell it, but it's not like he wasn't holding Mayweather's belt over his head with both hands instead of one. It probably doesn't matter in the big picture, but given the number of guys who have had to sell their injuries in public in case a fan may see them at the airport, it is funny that the guy on top can be on a show viewed by millions and any wrestling fans who saw it wouldn't have likely seen the brace and just have seen him fine.
The WWE web site reported that he had both a brace and a "small sling" on. That was described to us as a lack of communication with .com. Plus there was a lot of talk about how Vince McMahon didn't want C.M. Punk going out with Chael Sonnen on 1/28 in Chicago. In fact, he was pretty much told not to go to the show (although he did attend it as a fan and the UFC people liked him) with the idea one of his stars would be on a show and not be portrayed as a star in case UFC ignored him on TV. Like there was even a prayer the HBO announcers would acknowledge HHH when he was in the background."
It's worth nothing no one on the show said a goddamn thing about HHH, he was just some guy whos name wasn't said.
