This is very true and in the long run will probably keep her around a lot longer, however I just wished at least some of the time writers would write these events logically to give them more substance. Sure to larger fandom she may not "matter" however to this particular story she should play a huge part, or be mentioned extensively because of her dealings with the PF, or as I stated earlier be taken off the table.

Yeah it does seem like they would have preferred Rachel stay in space so not to deal with it. The fact that she will be in the WatXm stories is grand though. Lets face it, not being involved in the actual event is probably best for her.

One could make the same argument against Cable with this line of thought.

Wrong. Being a "plot point" in major Marvel Comics event that out sold DC in the month of March (and will continue to do so) carries MUCH weight. No other brick in the X-men line up could pull this off. Colossus is the only X-men brick who has enough personal baggage to be the Juggernaut.

I liked Colossus before the late 80s when he was simply tall and strong.

If it were an X-centric event then that would indeed be the case, but Avengers vs X-Men is to a degree, an attempt to capitalise on the success of the upcoming Avengers film by interesting newcomers in the Marvel universe at large. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing. Two dimensions of canon are being intertwined here, some things, unfortunately have to be simplified. We'll get a nod to Rachel's history with the Phoenix, and that'll be enough.

That's true, but Cable's carried his own title in the past and already has an established history with Hope. He's enough of an individual that he isn't just "Scott's son" in the same way that Rachel will always be "Jean's daughter."

Yes girl. If anything Fraction is the irrelevant one. Rachel is very important to the X Methos, but like many characters is shamefully overlooked.

If Rachel wasn't in space during the events of Blinded By The Light she would be dead.

Thanks for getting back on topic folks and not letting trolls derail this.

So from what I'm getting is that because Rachel was the Phoenix, whether her time as Phoenix meant anything or not, she should get a starring role in this Primetime series?

I disagree wholeheartly. In events like this you want to spotlight the best, the most relevant, Jean's time as Phoenix therefore is the only one that matters.

She tends to survive mass murderings of her people.

She's also a major cast member in two major X-books (well one major x-book and one that's been grandfathered in as major). She's a big deal right now.

Rachel is gonna be in AvX and have an important role in the AvX tie in to WatXM.
Also: Rachel is important to me. I used to not care much for her, but she's quickly become one of my favorites.
