Default Best use of Spidey characters outside of the Spider-Man titles

As one of Marvel's biggest franchises (maybe their biggest), Spider-Man and Spidey related characters have appeared throughout the Marvel Universe. I'm curious to see what appearances readers love.

We'll start this right, with one of the best issues of Fantastic Four that features Doctor Octopus in a fairly prominent role. Fantastic Four #267.

The monster saved them all. And in their fear, they betrayed him. As they always have. As they always will.

And no, I definitely didn't forget this issue. She-Hulk #4. Written by our very own Dan Slott. (I just didn't want to start this thread off by showcasing Spidey himself as it should also focus on Spidey-related characters.)

This issue also reveals the REAL reason Jonah hates Spidey.

I disagree with everything you wrote.

Black Cat's recent appearance on Daredevil was meh. I would have thought she would have betrayed Matt Murdock (hasn't every woman screwed him over in some way or the other?)

    It's because Spider-Man is black.

Sandman was effective as a member of the Frightful Four, and a member of the rogues gallery in his own right. I liked the death-trap he set for the team in Fantastic Four #62.

Kingpin was excellent as a Daredevil enemy. I think this would is pretty much uncontested.

So much so, Mets, that not many still think of Kingpin as a Spider-Man enemy.

FF 267 is a great call, Kevinroc.

Daredevil did such a good job using The Kingpin that he's actually tied to the Daredevil license. Hence, unless Marvel ever gets the rights back to both Spidey and DD, you will not see Kingpin in a live-action Spider-Man movie. (And why Spectacular didn't use Kingpin. They couldn't.)

Aside from the obvious Kingpin choice,i loved Dr Octopus appearence in DD 165.It was the beginning of "adamantium arms" plot, with Ock trying to steal adamantium to create a new pair of arms.

Byrne made Mysterio the guest villain in Sensational She-Hulk #2, and he really pulled all the stops on his stunt.

I think the obvious answer is Punisher.

I don't know. The general consensus is that the Elektra Saga and Born Again top any Punisher story in terms of quality.

Great thread Kev! One that comes to mind for me would be Fantastic Four #348. I have not read it in a long, long time but I remember loving that issue when I was a kid. Might have something to do with Art Adams too....
Why should I want to make anything up? Life's bad enough as it is without trying to invent any more of it.

Wow! That's a really nice looking She-Hulk and art. Is that Mark Bagley's work? It looks nice!
