where are: Wildfire; Dawnstar; Ultra Boy; Tyroc
..what are their 'current' origns, if any?

Levitz's take is that the current title's continuity continues on from the end of his run in V3, followed by The Lightning Saga, Superman & The Legion of Super-Heroes, Legion of Three Worlds, Last Stand of New Krypton.

The characters you mentioned are all members and have the same origins.

The V4 Legion has been erased from current Earth-0 continuity....They now occupy on another Earth in the Multiverse and would occasionally "crossover" to Earth-0. Same as the Reboot and Threeboot Legions.

But now I have a little problem: It's about the Adventure Comics v2 2009 onwwards. I know that Superboy: the boy of steel collects the first issues of Adventure Comics, but how does it go further? I was getting lost between Krypton, Nightwing & Flamebird and Mon-El trades.

Can somebody help me through this? What trades I really have to buy?
Issue #0 of Adventure Comics was a reprint of Adventure #247 and a Superboy back up.

Issues 1-4 had Legion backup stories....I don't think they've been collected.

5,6,7 had no Legion stories. 5 & 6 had Superboy-Prime and those issues were collected in a Blackest Night volume.

8, 9, 10 were part of the Last Stand of New Krypton crossover. This is collected in two volumes.

12 began the Legion stories set in the past and is uncollected.

515-520 are collected in Superboy & The Legion of Super-Heroes: the Early Years.

I'd recommend just getting the Last Stand and Early Years books.
Besides this, what volume or continuity can you recommend?
    Original continuity • Post-Zero Hour • Threeboot • Post-Infinite Crisis ?

I love the current run but I am not so into the Silver Age era.
Check out the Great Darkness Deluxe and its follow up, The Curse, would be my recommendation.

    To Whom It May Concern,

My sister, Maryessa [Aghini Faud], is a freshman student at your university, living in the Allon Residence Hall. I am worried because I have not heard from her in several weeks and she has not responded to three of my communiques.

I am trying not to overreact, but it is unlike her to ignore my communiques. We have a very close relationship and that bond remained strong even after she emigrated to Earth for her studies.

You could understand my concern, considering all the news being reported about the "Humans First" isolationists committing hate crimes on aliens in Metropolis.

I do not have contact information for her roommates or teachers, or I would have tried to reach her through them.

I am hoping you may help me locate her to make sure she is safe.

    Thank you for your assistance.

Has there been any mention of Shavaughn Erin in the new series?

What happened to the threeboot Legion? I kind of stopped reading the book after a few issues of Supergirl, but that was when I stopped reading comics in general. I recall it being one of my favorite books at the time (loved the self-contained nature), but I come back and now I see it's gone.

Also, is it worth trying to go back and read what I missed?

    Dear Mr. Alastor,

We received you message of 5.12.3008 regarding the whereabouts of your missing sister, Maryessa Aghini Faud. It is with deep regret we inform you that at this time, we can not provide you with a definitive answer regarding her whereabouts or her condition. Due to recent spate of terrorist attacks committed by isolationist extremists in the Metropolis area, there have been multiple casualties whose remains have gone unidentified.

We do not know for certain your sister is among the missing, and even if she was, it is uncertain that sufficient remains exist to properly identify her. Unfortunately, there are hundreds of similar cases pending, a status complicated, as you can imagine, by the fact the victims were specifically targeted because they are aliens, and as such are harder to identify for next of kin notification.

We have passed your information to the Science Police Medical Examiner's Information Services Department and we recommend you contact them immediately as well. We are terribly sorry that we can tell you little more at this time and we hope by some stroke of fortune that your sister was not a victim of the recent troubles.

Best of luck to you, sir.

    To Whom This May Concern,

I have been searching for my missing sister, Maryessa Aghini Faud, a year1 student at Metropolis University. I was referred to your organization by Andeera Gault, Director of Student Affairs; Off-world Residential Advisor, who informed me that my sister has not been heard of in weeks. Indeed, that with the recent spate of anti-alien terrorist activity, she may have been a victim of your planet's growing insanity.

I would like to know if DNA sampling has been conducted on any unidentified victims of those attacks. I can provide corroborating DNA samples if necessary, which can be used to possibly help identify my sister.

Please, I implore you for some assistance in this matter. As I reside on Rimbor and my funds are limited, so too has been my ability to advocate for my sister. My family has neither the credits or the connections to foment public scrutiny of the awful circumstances surrounding her disappearance, but I assure you, her family loves her very much. Her family misses her very much. All we ask is for some sense of closure on this matter.

Thank you for your time. I anticipate your response.

    Dear Mr. Alastor Aghini Faud,

Our apologies for the delay in responding to your query of 14.June.

We have checked our datanet and found no catalogue of the sister you claim is missing. Our ability to identify the victims of the recent terrorist attacks has been severely compromised by the lack of available sampling material from among the missing. The attacks left little to nothing in terms of organic material that could be accurately codified through verifiable DNA testing.

Of course if you wish to send us familial DNA samples, as well as any samples from the missing individual that has not been previously compromised, such as original cell, hair, skin or blood samples that have been properly stored in an appropriate medical facility, then please feel free to do so. It could only help us in any future opportunities for sampling should unexpected organic remains be found during the reconstruction of the attack sites.

Our sincerest regrets for your inconvenience.

    Sincerely,

    Arlo Ponthe

    To Mr. Arlo Ponthe
    Assistant Resources Manager
Science Police Medical Examiner's Information Services Dept.

It took you two months to respond to the query regarding my missing sister, Maryessa Aghini Faud, and in the first sentence of that response, your stated position is that I "claim" she is missing? Is this how you have treated all the family of those missing or killed by your xenophobic human residents or have you only chosen to treat those from the less influential in such a rude manner?

You have basically told me there is little you can (or will) do for my sister and that I should simply accept her ill-defined status. I know in my heart she is dead, killed on a world far away from her home. Killed because she believed in a dream of interspecies cooperation. Killed because the world she saw as a beacon for that opportunity, the world that founded the United Planets, Earth, could no longer accommodate such a dream.

Along with this letter I am sending you further "uncompromised" samples of my sister's DNA in the hope, faint though they may be, that your organization will actually choose to do something with the materials I provide you to bring a sense of finality to her status.

The prevailing view among the outer worlds has been that Earth's recent xenophobic excesses were caused by a very small minority of residents. We thought these sad ignorant fools simply didn't see the wonder and diversity of the galaxy as most Terrans do. Unfortunately, the indifference of your response to my situation is forcing me to consider that this ignorance is the prevailing attitude among humans.

A shame for the entire galaxy if that proves to be true.

    Sincerely,

    Alastor

    Dear Mr. Alastor Aghini Faud,

Our apologies for the delay in responding to your query of 11.September.3008.

We have used the DNA samples from the package you sent us to compare against the meager biological evidence obtained at the sites of the Earth First terrorist attacks. Unfortunately, no match was found in our datanet to those of your missing sister, Maryessa Aghini Faud. As discussed, our ability to identify the victims has been severely compromised due to the nature of the attacks.

It is unlikely at this time that we will find scientific evidence to confirm that your sister was killed in one of those attacks. If you still have not heard from her, it is highly likely she was among the lost. Our best recommendation is that you proceed under the assumption she is no longer living and prepare according to the customs of your culture.

Our sincerest regrets to you and your family for your loss.

    Sincerely,

    Arlo Ponthe

Fox the 3boot legion went up to issue 50 then got cancelled...as for reading to the end...is it worth it uh...well let's just say the majority of fans reading the book were pissed at it and felt disgusted. I would read it myself if i were you...not cause they're wrong, but because everyone needs to read for themselves or you'll be scratching an itch you cant reach, cause you didn't do the reading yourself.

And Paul given the changes probably coming soon I sense an addition to this faq LOL.

What happened was that DC shifted its attention to Geoff Johns's retroboot Legion. The threeboot Legion still exists as the Legion of Earth-Prime.

If you really liked the threeboot Legion, then, yes, it's worth filling in your gaps, although the last few issues were kinda painful. If you only kind of liked it, then don't bother.
