IMO, Well I think your going to need at least Sue Storm and Storm on this for the name recognition. Although it would be nice if characters not netting regular appearances like Monica, Gamora, etc got a slot.

Black History Month & 29 Days in February
If Songbird was on the team, I would be VERY excited. She would finally associate with people who aren't Thunderbolts.
If Diamondback is also on the team, favorite...Comic Book...EVER! No really! If Songbird and Diamondback meet...I would be so excited and buy 20 copies! It is my ultimate comic dream to see those two meet!
Okay, now I'm getting sidetracked.
I think the book should be called the Valkries. Its sounds better than Lady Liberators IMHO. Bunn/Pelleitier/Bags did the best mini I have read since the intial run of the Twelve.
Don't rouse him, he's managed to go a good couple of days without mentioning Moonstone.
On topic note - I do sadly think that Diamondback would be a very unlikely addition to any team book at the moment. They'd be taking a risk on the book anyway (and by "risk" I mean someone at a Marvel editorial meeting has to bring up the idea of a book that by it's very nature can't and won't feature a "big four / six" member and manage to keep their job) and it's unlikely they'd risk it further by going down to the bottom of the C and D lists for their cast.

Sure. Why not? After all, it may take a while to find out who is worthy. Maybe there'll be a contest or tournament to choose the roster.
In fact, S/D will be the writer. Stuart Immonen will be on pencils. He should have time, even though he'll also be doing my new Doctor Strange ongoing.
Let's hear the first plot arc of your new series, S/D. Six issue introductory mini. Give us the book by book synopsis.
GO!
Heh, I have more ideas to bounce around. Evil counsel of new villains called the New World Dawn.
Villains would include a God of Pleasure, who is sort of like Randy Savage. He erupts a giant giant Casino in the middle of Vegas that hypnotizes people into it. The whole structure would be like MC Escher portrait in Casino form, and rooms that suck people into them, giving them their perfect paradise and try to make them forget who they are. When people are in the rooms, the set up would be framed like it was a TV programs. Each fantasy realm that captures people powers up the God of Pleasure. He also has a shot gun that is made of Uru, which he got some drawves to craft for him after they lost a bet to him. Fires like a tank.
Another villain would be like the anti-Squirrel Girl. A cheery girl who's constantly nodding off to headphones, but her power involves everything she imagines to form and she can make instant armies of anything. Knocking her out would make everything she imagines disappear.
I'll skip the other villains part.
Otherwise, more of a team up through coincidences. For example, Diamondback would be let onto the team because they need to get access to a shady villainous area, which she is kinda accepted on both sides of the heroes and villains sides. Though, her introduction would be a few panels of her standing against a brick wall, and getting a phone call. She answers and they're asking her to join, with the lines:
Team Member on Phone: "You free for a teamup? We'll borrow you for a bit."
Diamondback: "Well..."
Zoom out to reveal she's standing on the side of a building as if she was going to jump.
Diamondback: "I didn't have much planned for today..."
Her arc would be her feeling worthless. She is the weakest member on the team and has limited resources. Her life has gone to hell and she has little reason to keep going, which bounces off Hellcat, who continually pranks, teases and messes with her. Be a friendship which gets on Diamondback's nerves, but Hellcat keeps her onboard, like Diamondback waking up in her apartment only to see Patsy in her face, getting her out the door to get ready for their next mission. Hellcat would be picking up on Rachel's suicidal vibes and is staying close to her so she wouldn't do such an act, but is too scared to actually confront her about it, seeing how Hellcat has already committed suicide once and doesn't want to see someone else to do the same fate. (Amazingly, this last line was something I just realized while writing. I'm mainly borrowing ideas from other stories in my head.)
But yeah, these are some of the elements I have. I'm sure I can scrap together a mini idea, but these are more longterm story elements.

@JamesAsmus I'm going to hedge my bets here. You're writing an 8 strong female team led by Valkyrie.
