I own my childhood to Kevin Conroy (and Mark Hamill, of course).
Trully, he is one of my childhood heroes, even if I didn't know his name until many years later.
God bless Batman: TAS.
Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Gwen Stacy, Peter Parker, Professor X, Mar-Vell, Richard Rider- Bring Them Back!!!
Wouldn't be here reading comics and posting if it weren't for this cartoon.
easily THE reason I'm into comics and superheroes at all. One of the best shows to ever hit television, and still better than anything on today. So much of it holds up perfectly even 20 years later. Wish I was there just to meet even one of those people. As someone who's not really starstruck (staffed a number of conventions in my area, met Shatner once as a result), Conroy and Hamill might be the two I do so with, purely because of this show.
Hell, when I read comics and this voice group is the one I hear in my head, you're certainly doing SOMETHING right.
I AM VENGENACE, I AM THE NIGHT, I AM BATMAN.
Looking Back on that now, Batman went Beowulf.
I still hold this as the gold standard in cartoons. Superior writing and animation have it head and shoulders above everything else.
I was recently visiting my sister's family. She has 3 kids. Two girls (7 and 2), and one boy (4). For my visit, I brought volume one of the "Batman: The Animated Series" on DVD. We ended up watching several episodes (On Leather Wings, Christmas With the Joker, Nothing to Fear, The Last Laugh, Pretty Poison, Heart of Ice, The Cat and the Claw parts 1 & 2, Feat of Clay Parts 1 & 2, The Joker's Favor, Vendetta, Fear of Victory, and Mad as a Hatter).
All of the kids liked it, but my nephew in particular loved the show. His favorite by far was Feat of Clay. We ended up rewatching that 2 parter twice. He also really liked On Leather Wings, The Last Laugh, and Vendetta (although we referred to Killer Croc as only "Croc"). He already told me he wants the Batman: TAS box set for Christmas this year.
Top 5 favorite current books (in no particular order): Batman Inc., Batman, Batman and Robin, Daredevil, Superior Spider-Man
