"In 'Detective' #9, Batman finds himself in the unlikeliest of situations -- saving Arkham Asylum administrator Jeremiah Arkham from a mysterious Talon assailant'' ... so jeremiah arkham aka BLACK MASK 2 , is not longer a canon .. good to know

Jeremiah Arkham already appeared in Batman: Dark Knight #1 (I believe). Since no one on the boards really likes that book I guess that tidbit didn't spread too far.

Yeah, I believe they already confirmed that Arkham is no longer Black Mask at a con or something.

So I guess they'll have to retro-correct that tidbit from Batman 1 in the collected version now?

Yeah, that bothered me to no end. And it seemed like such a simple thing to not mess up.

And it was two books under the same editor. You'd think they'd have decided that little tidbit ahead of time, or have an explanation as to who the second Black Mask is if there is still more than one.

I gave up on Detective Comics after issue 4, and I see nothing at all that will lure me back. Better to have Bruce deal with the newly awakened army of Talons on his own book and the rest of the Gotham cast do their part. And well, this is confirmation that these stories are taking place in the same time frame as the rest of the DCnU and not in the past as was speculated at some point - which is yet another bad call IMO.

I'm still confused why the guy in Batman #1 was identified as Black Mask if he had white facepaint on. And who was the Sumo guy? Was he new or had he appeared before Flashpoint?

We've known this since before the DCnU began and it's been repeated over and over.
