okay, I know some Romy fans here said a Magrog fan is not a true Rogue fan. I had a slight there since I was called an untrue Gambit fan as I'm a Romy fan.

I saw an image of Rogue reacting to Remy and Foxx and that Remy said he would prove that he wanted to be with Rogue. I didn't see the next panel, does anyone recall what that was? (was this pre or post-Emma therapy?)

So I'm surprised that he seems to get much sympathy/support now. It's a my-turn, your-turn mess. I was so so stunned Remy during Golgotha saying Rogue has only experience immature love with physicality. WAIT just a cotton-pickin moment here, I thought they had a very real physical coupledom when the lost their powers in Extreme X-men. Was the continuity that FLAT?

Also, even being the Romy fan that I am, I am stunned nobody has ever mentioned Remy/Death has tried to kill Rogue twice. Has Rogue ever mentioned this...or was Deathbit storyline really dumped in the sewers of Marvel? Was Remy being so supportive of Rogue now a retribution? How about we turned the angle that Remy doesn't seem that angry about Erik, because of ....self-loathing? NOTE: I'm just suggesting this in theory as I know Carey wouldn't think too much about Remy's feelings.

On another board, someone stated that one is not a true Rogue fan if they are a Rogneto fan. Well Golly, I 've been called an untrue Gambit fan for continuing to like Romy.

I read on Gambit Guild that someone is supposed to post on this Romy thread about why Mags is bad for Rogue. Egads, I think Romy posters here already knew that!
I'll never quite understand why some Gambit fans thought Rogue was bad influence and blocked his character progression, and vice versa. When they are written decently, you see that no other is going to be just as good for each of them. Not just for the chemistry and sparks and fireworks and magic, but because of the way one develops the other without requiring changes in personality. They can be defined individually and as a couple equally well, and they will always work as long as they're written properly, like someone from comicvine forums had said "They argue, they rely and they love enough - if all fails they can put them back together and nobody would bat an eyelid". Of course, this now begs the question who is right for them when they are written crappily...still each other? We know that Mag and Cece didn't quite 'click', even though both Gambit and Rogue were rather out of character. Then, who else? No one.

Golgotha was odd. It's best to think of it as a Lovecraft story, where everyone is spiraling into madness. The whole point of those scenes is that the X-Men were articulating the others' worst fears, were saying things designed to hurt them irrespective of whether or not they were true. So, when Gambit says that to Rogue, he's pretty much insane and lashing out at her. But, yes, it was bizarre coming on the heels of X-Treme X-Men. Together with the Lovecraftian horror, I think that's why no-one really cares about what he said. Milligan's run on X-Men was horrible for the most part (and it pains me to say that, because I'm usually a fan), and I dismiss most of his take on Romy as bad and misinformed writing, which it is.

My theory is that Gambit's trying to make up for Deathbit by being extra supportive and sweet, but I don't think the books have ever confirmed it. It would make sense, though, given his highly developed sense of guilt. But I think it's important to remember that it's not Remy who tried to kill her; it's Death, a personality that is the result of profound mental and physical conditioning. It's exactly the same as Archangel trying to kill the X-Men. In fact, we have a moment where Death tries to kill Rogue, and he can't because Gambit stops him.

Personally, I don't care who people ship, or think it makes them less of a fan. Seriously, this whole business about true fans is exactly like the true Scotsman fallacy, except even more ridiculous. I will say that Romy fans often are dismissed as not being real Rogue fans on this board, so it might be a reaction to that.

It was post-Emma therapy, and it involved Gambit kicking Foxx out of his class. At which point she revealed herself as Mystique, and then offered to have sex with him in Rogue's form. Which some people think he did, because Milligan was all "did-he-or-didn't-he?" up to the end of the arc. Which is so stupid, because Gambit would not bang Mystique and then run back to Rogue *without even showering* to tell her he'd kicked Foxx out of his class.

Irn Bru is amazing. I had it at a Scottish festival last year, and I bought dozens of cans to take home with me. I rationed them out over the next few months.

Superhero Squad Gambit and Rogue are so adorable. I am seriously tempted to buy them. I can't imagine they're too much.

*goes to Amazon.com* $150.00? WHAT? They must be part of an older series.

    Thanx for the info guys...
I sold a rare Japanese Romy figurine set a few yrs ago. I wished I kept it cuz I have not seen it sold on Ebay since!

    http://chwc.ariadneslabyrinth.net/index.html

Most of the RR sites have vanished, but some have stayed on in existence with no updates but still great info. The one from Haruka is still around I believe, and the one above.

I'm still tickled folks think the pic is of RR on the Nude Remy scan. It really does look like Laura. Though I'm glad to see RR on friendly terms with the text.

    LOL. This is great.

The scenes from X-men #4 with Rogue dressing in a gorgeous red southern dress and Gambit in a biker outfit reminded me when Lloyd Dobler and Diane Court first went out on a date in Say Anything. Lloyd in the trenchcoat and Diane in the white dress.

I don't know, I doubt Marvel would let Gambit do something so dynamic such as that. Has the solo series started yet??

I've been thinking about this for awhile and I think it deserves some pondering on this thread. I know there have been situations in the danger room where powers have been shut off... If Rogue and Remy were so desperate for physical contact, couldn't they've just somehow used this for their advantage? I mean the could've just gotten permission from Xavier and locked the doors and, bam, problem gone.
