    Default Ultimate Spider-Man

    Anyone catch this one?

I did and I liked it quite a bit. I know some will dislike the sight gags, but I thought they were great and very funny. They provided us a way into Peter's head other than through constant (often whiny) internal narration. The show also had some interesting takes on both Aunt May and Mary Jane, not to mention Peter's new hero classmates.

I liked it. It's very clearly been built to the specifications of the Disney Channel brand, but it was a fun take on the characters.

Really enjoyed it. I actually found myself laughing at the jokes.

I hate to say it, but this is one of the few times I've found Spider-Man funny. Sure, I know he's supposed to be one of the "funny heroes", but really he's just more of a smart-ass which isn't necessarily the same thing.

It was a lot of fun, I really liked his internal monologs and the way he'd "stop time" to voice them.

I like it a lot, for the most part. Dialogue, narration, and action were all really great. I knew from the names attached to this project it would be good. Not as good as Spectacular, at least not yet. The only problem I had is that I wish they had kept it self-contained from all the Avengers stuff.

I was expecting to be an adaptation of the Bendis series, but I'm glad its not.

Yeah I didn't care for it. It tried to hard to be funny, IMO. I liked Avengers SOOOOO much better.

Too each their own. I do hope for the success for the show though!

This show is great. My son and I both loved it. I'm glad they didn't start with an origin episode. Does anyone know how many episodes they made? I think there were 20 something Avengers last year, so I'm hoping there's that many Ultimate Spidey's.

Is it anywhere online yet? Been wanting to watch it, but since I don't have cable or satellite I have to do my watching on the computer and so for can't find it.
A lot of people get sentience confused for sapience. Your hamster is sentient, you are sapient. Intelligence is sapience.

Was I the only one who was reminded a bit of Family Guy while watching this show? Only in the sense of the cut away joke scenes and such, though these actually had to do with the plot whereas in Family Guy they don't.

That said, I really enjoyed the series. It will be interesting to see a show where Spidey is on a team. I'm wondering if Norman Osbourne will go after the other members of the team now? Since if they're going to Peter's school they will be more active in the city. An army of people with Luke Cage's power would go real good with an army of Spider-man clones.

I'm glad they included Iron First, I've always wanted to see him in a tv show(besides Super Hero Squad).

More Saved by the Bell or Ferris Beuler's Day Off. All the cutaways are to reveal inner monologue.

For the record, I've spoken with the writers. My take was Saved by the Bell, their take was Ferris. But they bought mine too.

I saw it more as Scrubs, because it was mostly us getting into Spidey's head. Though, the humor was a fair bit broader than on Scrubs.

My view of the show so far is that it's Spider-Man and his Amazing Friends+X-Men: Evolution+Scrubs.
