    Update about the game:

Releasing a screen shot this early in the process is a new concept for me as we typically want to hone in every element before we show it. But based on the requests and our desire for fan input, we are doing so to solicit feedback on the basic look. Please keep in mind that we have not put in the particle effects and post-processing which will have a dramatic effect on the scene, and this represents just one of the various environments for Wasteland 2 so expect to see other quite different locales. Also, this particular camera angle is on the low end of a range that the player can adjust upwards to a much more top-down view, for those who prefer that style during game play.

...how do they have that much done after like a month of the kickstarter finishing?Assuming they didn't develop an engine for this?

It's apparently not REALLY a screen shot but just concept art. I think what really happened is they skinned over an X-com: Enemy Unknown screenshot.

They say it's a screen shot right on their page.

Not Wasteland, but whatever, they're transcendentally related.

I think they were shooting for something like a 18 months development cycle.

I definitely would be interested in playing this. I really wanna see a post-apocalypse game in the vein of Road Warrior, but not retro like the Fallout games and with less hockey pads and frying pans tied to shoulders. Also because we live in a world that is extremely dependent on technology so having a game set in a world coming from our modern day will just feel that much more surreal.

I just want to play it because it looks like HD Fallout and some of the guys working on it made fallout.
Fallout 3 was great and everything, but it was missing a ton of what made the original games awesome.

I'm kind of wondering how much like Fallout this game will be. Since they've been working on this I've been looking at Wasteland stuff again, and it looks like a very different kind of game. The tone of Wasteland sounds much goofier than Fallout, almost like a cross between Fallout and Earthbound; and the combat seems to be more along the lines of games like Phantasy Star & Earthbound.

Fallout 2 was goofy as all hell if you looked around a little bit.

Not in the same way Wasteland seemed to be.

What does that have to do with anything?
