Default Hawkeye x Spider-Woman as Marvel's new Super Couple

It seems that Jessica x Clint's relationship is picking up steam. And this would certainly be a turn for the better. Brian Bendis has hinted for a longtime that Jessica will find a man who will do right by her. And Clint seems the man to fit the bill. What do guys think? It could become a longterm relationship for the both of them.

It's a totally random character pairing. The only moment they ever had pre-Bendis was a brief scene in McCann's Hawkeye and Mockingbird mini. It reads like Bendis needed a relationship in the title, so he spun two wheels and they landed on Hawkeye and Spider-Woman.

They're a horrible couple with no chemistry at all. Their relationship adds nothing to the story. I hope Spider-Woman goes back to limbo and Bendis never touches Avengers again.

Personally. I would have liked it better if they had develop a strong mutual relationship between Jessica Drew x Peter Parker. There is a lot of potential for Jessica Drew. It all depends on the writer. But I feel that a connection with Peter Parker might make things interesting. Especially if he could have helped her out with a device that could allow her to control her Pheromone powers like an on/off switch. I have always wanted to see a strong partnership develop between them. But there was never an interest among past writers to do so. And I never understood why Spider-Woman wants a relationship with Clint of all people.

Not the first time Clint's gone for a spider-themed super-hottie. So I can dig this pairing. Not completely sold yet, but I'm open to it for sure.

I'm more interested in finding out who Mockingbird will be sleeping with.

Anyone know who Clint's best friend is?

Homer: Ned Flanders, I mock your value system. You also appear foolish to the eyes of others.
Ned: Well howdy, Homer! Thanks for dropping by!
    [Level 2 antagonism]
Homer: Past instances in which I professed to like you, were fraudulent.
Ned: Oh well. I'll just have to try harder. Thanks for dropping by!
    [Maximum hostility factor]
Homer: I engaged in intercourse with your spouse or significant other. Now that's psychiatry!

    Awful, awful couple.
Under Bendis, he's a giant ineffectual douchebag, and she's a whiny cretin whose qualification for being in the Avengers is "got kidnapped then turned up crying afterwards".
As has been noted, their "chemistry" is non-existent and the whole relationship reads like fan-fic written by a special needs valley girl with a Timotei fixation.

I'm fine with them. I don't love them as a couple, but I have no problems with it either.

If he's going to pair them up, then I do think he should do more with them though. They're just kinda there.

I think more than anything, it's good for Spider-Woman. Or at least potentially good. She needs more connections in the MU to keep her around, as I think there's a possibility she might go back to limbo once Bendis is gone.

I do like the dating banter between Jessica and Carol Danvers as they talk about their love lives. That's probably the only good thing to come from this relationship.

When Bendis leaves the Avengers, I could see the next writer completely ignoring the Clint and Jess hookup. I don't really see it as a long-lasting thing.

It's awful and totally random. I hope ends up as soon as possibly.

Forgive my ignorance, but could I get a little background info here?

Mockingbird and Hawkeye ended their relationship because.....?

Following said breakup, Hawkeye and Spiderwoman began....flirting? A physical relationship? A date?

    Thanks much.

I'll let someone else who has a better handle on Bobbi and Clint explain the break-up... but basically Hawkeye and Spider-Woman flirted a bit. She kissed him during Fear Itself. Then it seems like they've gone back to flirty banter. If anything's REALLY happened between them, nothing's been spelled out on the page.

I don't get the random criticism.

That's how it happens in real life. You meet someone, at work for instance. You flirt a bit, you hit it off. It's not as if Bendis is retconning in a long, romantic history between the two of them lile happened with Storm and the Black Panther.
'The marquis. Well, you know, to be honest, he seems a little bit dodgy to me.'
'Mm,' she agreed. 'He's a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur."

There hasn't really been any development between Clint and Jess. It's random and as if Bendis said, oh here's two single people - let's smoosh them together. I want a real relationship shown - the intrigue, flirting, building up to asking out on a date, the conflict. Something... Anything but what has happened. The Bobbi/Clint break-up has been strange but at least they aren't on the same team anymore. The lack of character development on the Avengers titles is abysmal. Hopefully the next writer will be able to actually use the characters with aplomb.

Uninspired, unconvincing. The only good thing about Spider Woman is that costume and her curves, The Skrull Queen was okay but Jessica Drew is boring as all hell. Just kill her off please.

And, I have to agree. Especially with the circumstances these individuals find themselves in -- heated combat and fighting for your lives and all that. And to being doing so with people in peek physical condition -- attractive people no less??

Hell, I'm surprised there isn't MORE canoodling going on. I've seen it in social circles. Yea, it can seem a bit incestuous, the way couples break up and reconnect and essentially swap partners...but when you're living a certain lifestyle, you're going to naturally gravitate toward those who share the same experiences and common "interests". heh.
