I haven't liked the DCnU version of Superman thus far, which puts me in the minority I guess, as I liked the previous version despite the bad writing.

Booster Gold isn't as much fun as he used to be, either. He seems much more serious to me, now. Though I admit, I didn't read JLI past issue 2.

    Side note, 2000th post!!!

I'm not a fan of the direction they took Firestorm but for the most part, most of the characters seem fixable with an effective writer.
I don't know what they will do to fix the Firestorm issue.

It's really Geoff Johns that seems to have turned them into the Douchebags of the Universe.

    Barbara Gordon
    Hawkman
    Firestorm
    Green Arrow
    Mr Terrific
Zatanna (not that bad, just better before)
Booster Gold (not that bad, just better before)
Power Girl (remains to be seen, the new costume is terrible though)
    Suicide Squad

I feel like Barbara Gordon and Booster Gold would be fine with better writers / writers whose interpretation I like more. Hawkman and Firestorm have been completely f***** which is a shame since they spent a lot of time working on those properties in Brightest Day.

Superman. I'm not sure what he's supposed to be now. Hipster? Host body for foriegn entities? Tough, but silent type?

Oh yeah, I forgot how much I dislike the DCnU Hawkman!

I guess the abortion that is Daniel's take on the character has been subconsciously blocked out...

It's really Geoff Johns that seems to have turned them into the Douchebags of the Universe.
The Guardians were already really suspect since Emerald Dawn. All Johns did is make it more obvious.

I'd say since HARD-TRAVELING HEROES way back during the 1970s.

There were certainly hints of it back then, to be sure. But the Guardians were actually pretty lenient with Apa Ali Apsa by exiling him to Maltus the way they did. They could have been complete douchebags and 'lobotomized' him like they did poor Ganthet recently, and they didn't. I think I'd have to go with the Emerald Dawn conclusion too. Throughout the rest of the 70's and most of the 80's, they actually behaved in a fairly above board manner.
And as for getting back on topic, I'd have to say I'm disappointed with most of the reboot characterizations I've seen. I loathe most of the redesigned costumes, and some of the portrayals have really done the characters an injustice.

Amanda Waller & Deadshot. The new versions are but pale imitations.

So many characters I LOVED pre 52. Some of those characters I still love, but not like before

Wonder Girl/Vicious: I sincerely miss old loving Cassie. New Cassie, I dig her simply because she what I imagine Emma Frost if Emma didn't have telepathy, but super strenght instead.

Starfire: Starfire is still as tough as ever, but she lost her heart in this new world. Even as a gay man, Starfire is still a sight to be seen, but I wish she can find her heart. Being with Arsenal and Red Hood is only hurting her character

Womder Woman: I always respected Diana, but Donna and Cassie were just so much better than her. However, with the new 52 I can actually focus on Wonder Woman

Harley Quinn: Her 52 self>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>old self

Zartanna: About the same. She needs to be surrounded by others for me to be interested in her

Voodoo: I don't like Priscella being an alien clone. Other than that great. I love femme fatales.

    Superman
Green Arrow (and I didn't think it was possible)
    Batgirl
    Hawkman
    The Atom - Ray Palmer
Red Arrow/Speedy (Never cared for the Arsenal gig)
I just don't care what they do with Starfire post-NTT (nor Cyborg, nor Raven)
    Mr. Terrific (such a shame)
    Um...
Wally West, the real Kid Flash
Donna Troy, the real Wonder Girl
    Elongated Man
So happy to have E-2 Huntress back; so bummed not to have E-2 Robin

    --

Characters I like significantly better since relaunch:

    Batman
    Robin (Damian)
    Wonder Woman
    Aquaman
Zatanna (come on y'all - she was so boring.)

I also like the current treatments of Nightwing and The Flash and Green Lantern is okay. I am growing weary of Sinestro, but I do like the increased involvement of Carol Ferris.

Animal Man, Swamp Thing and JL Dark are great but all those characters were always great.
