I really like the fact that we had Sean Murphy and now Dustin Nguyen for guest American Vampire mini-series. I just wanted to know who you wanted for future minis.
Here are my hopes for people whose styles would work well
1960's
Cameron Stewart: If his work from The Other Side is proof, Cameron would be a great addition to any potential Vietnam conflicts or 1960's craziness.
Phil Noto: He has experience drawing vampires in Jubilee and Wolverine, and his style is greatly influenced by the 1960's
Brendan McCarthy: Would be very experimental, but would be fun to see a psychodelic issue of American Vampire with Brendan as artist
1970's:
Sean Murphy: He really for me in Sean the Barbarian captured a very 70's looking plainness in his real world character designs.
Francesco Francavilla: I really think he would be a great fit for this era for some reason, maybe because I think his Black Panther art has a very great throwback but new quality to it that reminds me of the 1970's. Plus. He's worked with Scott before.
1980's:
Cliff Chiang: I think Cliff if given a break ( which is unlikely, but who knows) would really do well encapsulating the 1980's. Whenever I've bought prints from Cliff, the 1980's has been an influence for his faux superhero vinyl covers. I would be glad to see Cliff skip Wonder Woman a few months for this.
Jeff Lemire: I feel that Jeff would do really well to work on either the 1970's or 1980's because he has such character in his art.
Matt Kindt: I like Matt Kindt's art, and I think his style would be great to see on American Vampire. Revolver reminds me a bit of the Yuppie qualities of the 1980's
1990's:
I really don't know. I just don't want to see 90's era art here , lol. Although it'd be interesting to see Greg Capullo do an arc here.
Other artists that would be interesting:
Glenn Fabry
Steve Dillon
Sean Phillips
Amy Reeder
Adrian Alphona ( he's drawn vampires in Runaways before)
Any other ideas?
