Many of these aren't even bad songs; they're just songs people have heard too often due to overzealous exposure in the media.

Put them away for a good, long rest and they might even sound great again after many years.

I'm tempted to agree for the most part.

I think some songs get overplayed that aren't really worthy of that amount of over exposure.

I don't have a problem with songs like Freebird or Stairway because they are such great songs that i can never truly get sick of them

I'd be fine never hearing Hotel California again, which is why I was so surpised by how much I enjoyed Frank Ocean's American Wedding.

I wish there was a radio station here that played 50's and early 60's pop and rock.

I know there is a restaurant near my house that plays some.

I was thinking of mentioning "Old Time Rock 'N' Roll" but I forgot

Now that I'm thinking about it "I Love Rock and Roll"

The number of radio stations playing 1950s rock 'n roll is steadily diminishing.

Presently, none of L.A.'s oldies stations play anything older than 1964 anymore. The early Beatles songs are the cutoff point for how old they'll go: you don't hear Chuck Berry, Elvis, or Buddy Holly on KRTH 101 anymore these days. You *do* hear Hall and Oates and the Police, though: that's what qualifies as "oldies" now.

Austin has a station kind of like that. I THINK they play stuff into the 50s but I wouldn't bet my life on it. The weekends usually end up being "80s weekends" where they switch to all 80s songs.

I'm almost sick of that Gotye song "Somebody that I used to know"

I'm not quite there, but headed in that direction.

I'm an STP fan but I didn't care for Plush or Interstate Love Song because they were both overplayed so much. However, I really enjoy both songs now and rank them both in the group of STP's best songs.
