I know you don't edit the X-Books Tom, but you should at least be aware that Emma Frost just recently mind wiped Sebastian Shaw...it's been a rather large plot point in Generation Hope lately! Care to jump in Nick....?Powerful telepaths have another morally gray ability, the ability to erase and control minds. This begs the question, when things get tough will there be some X-Men tempted to use this ability? Or is this seen as a last ditch "nuclear option?"
Brevoort: Again, I wouldn't think this would be an easily-used option if it were ever seriously considered at all. The X-Men haven't done this sort of thing even to their most ruthless foes, so I don't think they'd be inclined to do it to guys they know are heroes but whom they happen to be in contention with.

....either he's not going to be in this at all, or he's the big secret weapon they don't want to talk about.
Or, he'll just be useless like in other events.

I have a problem with the whole technology trumps telepathy thing. There have been numerous times where powerful telepaths have shutdown technological psi shields. I hope they don't take the cheap route and have Tony Stark whip up some impenetrable psi shield and that be the end of it. I'm not saying the X-Men should could completely mind wreck them, since that would be as a cheap as the opposite.
Professor X also mind wiped Magneto before. Do these people even read the comics they publish? Emma also mind wiped Mojo once i believe.

Q: You know what happens when a Mallrat gets struck by lightning?
A: Chili Fries
Telepathy would have to have some sort of science behind it, unless it's mystical, and even then their are still rules according to strange or just another science we don't understand according to Pym.
Magneto has had a big helmet for years. I'm sure tech can easily trump this, but for story purposes won't.
Personally I think the fact tech probably won't trump psychics is off unless they say it is mystical or spiritual in nature.

Sorry but once Emma goe's diamond she is useless as a telepath so it is stupid just to mention her as being the X-Men's psychic arsenal when there are other more tallented psychics around who have telekinetic powers like Rachel Gray and Quentin Quire who were both Pheonix hosts.
Also, Quentin Quire has a psi-shotgun which is far superior to Emma's psychic bolts.
They need to call Quasar back to Earth for this. Not only is he immune to telepathic and mental attacks, I seem to remember him handling the Pheonix in 1 issue back in the day. AvX would be over pretty quick.
He was mentioned in the previous installment of WHEN TWO TRIBES GO TO WAR: "AVX" - The Heavy Artillery:
http://www.comicbookresources.com/?p...ticle&id=37424Thor's power lies primarily in the supernatural world and so does the power of another Avenger, Doctor Strange. Doc isn't the Sorcerer Supreme any more, but he's still a master of the mystic arts. Just how dangerous is he?
Brevoort: Very dangerous in that his powers are such that there's no easy and effective counter to them. That said, there are a number of X-Men whose abilities are derived either wholly or in part from magic. And as you say, Strange is no longer the Sorcerer Supreme. But he's still the most learned and most experienced fighter there is in that arena.
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." - Winston Churchill
I did see that one. But otherwise Strange has been conspicuous by his absence in all the AvX promotions. He's not mentioned in any of the solicits; he's not in any of the Vs issues. This is a potential world-destroying threat. It's exactly the kind of thing he should be solving. It's the kind of story worthy of a Sorcerer Supreme -- and yet no mention of him whatsoever. It's like they've forgotten he exists.
..knew that was coming.
I know fans want to see their favorite characters do everything, but if the prevailing Marvel opinion was "We can't use Doctor Strange in a plot -- he's too powerful for ordinary threats" and NOW an extraordinary threat is coming and it looks like they still won't use him... it's just frustrating.
Why put him in Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 to lure in new readers (like me) if he never gets to show his chops when it actually matters? I didn't fall in love with the tired old man in a green duster. I fell in love with the sorcerer who can have an impossible problem in front of him, and no friends with him, and nothing going his way, and still win.
