WOW. They should just shoot/print off Denys's finished pencils, as with Gene Colan's for Nathaniel Dusk. I liked Denys's work decades ago, but those pages are off the hook!
Read it...luvd it...gonna worship it if it maintains dis quality.
Wat r very gr8 1st issue & Cowan's art is supreme...cant wait 4 issue 2.
Y'all sh'd get dis NOW!
Downside:
D inker & person doing d colors is/r rally REALLY letting down Cowans art...if dis buk is 2 last d color style has 2 change in order 2 gv Cowan's art mo 'gritty-liveliness' kinda like d colorist/inker of Leinil Yu's work on Supercrooks otherwise Cowan's pencil's hv iprovd.

What are very great first issue and Cowan's art is supreme... Can't wait for issue 2.
You all should get this NOW!
Downside:
The inker and person doing the colors is really REALLY letting down Cowan's art... if this book is to last, the color style has to change in order to give Cowan's art more "gritty-liveliness." Kind of like the colorist/inker of Leinil Yu's work on Supercrooks, otherwise Cowan's pencils have improved.

What exactly is the problem with the inks and colours?

'The marquis. Well, you know, to be honest, he seems a little bit dodgy to me.'
'Mm,' she agreed. 'He's a little bit dodgy in the same way that rats are a little bit covered in fur."
I'm not the hugest Cowan fan...but overall I think the book is pretty good.
Fanboy (il)logic: If a character who is not a "classic" Justice Leaguer or Avenger gets any panel time whatsoever, he/she is being "shoved down our throats".
I think Dave McCaig's colors are a great complement to Cowan's pencils. Look at the example above, McCaig picks up the important definition of monster and still kept the image clear and distinct. But then, for me, Yu's work is an eye-wrenching mess. Just read issue 2 of Dominique Laveau and one thing that really jumped out is how much detail Denys puts into the background without having it distract from the action. So many modern artists just put filler in the back to save time.
