Just for the bit on WW's boots, because I never understood the reason behind it being there in the first place; why does she have to wear the most impractical footwear for what she does?
I mean, the outfit is still supposedly from Themyscira, they don't wear heels there (unless their streets are filled with garbage). Secondly, its not a fashion statement meant to make Diana look good, the costume is workwear, not catwalk.
end of grumpy complaint :(

Mr Lee,
You're drawing Wonder Woman's boots just fine.
She DOES NOT need heels!
But, she DOES need her jacket and pants BACK!

Dear Jim, caught part of the Disney comedy Sky High over the weekend. ..and what's been bugging me for 8 months about the new Superman outfit finally clicked. It's The Commander's (Kurt Russel's) outfit. Seriously. If you repaint his costume you get Superman's 'kryptonian armor.' Considering the movie is seven years old and the outfit was intended to be somewhat exaggerated and satirical of 'cartoonish' sterotypes.. I have to quote Seth and Amy on this one: 'Really!!?!?!?!?!' Something more on the lines of what your colleague Shane Davis did is far more iconic and appropriate.. Or even what the new movie seems to be doing. PLEASE. Can we lose the armor soon? It DOES NOT WORK. Correction, it sort of works when you draw it. But you can't be there to draw it every time.. Every other artist makes it look bulky and impractical. I'm cringing at the preview pages from HU on the next JL issue. At the very least, since Action #7 suggests it can alter shape, can we use that as a get out of fashion hell card on this one? really...
Check out the link, folks..

I'm completely with you. The more fans-in particular, Wonder Woman fans-complain about this or that tweak to her costume, the more I realize that they don't want any changes, at all. Their ideal appears to be the embodiment of a super-powered female, as powerful as Superman, with the proportions of Barbie. I expect they want the text to assert that she's credible in the superhero community, tough as nails when need be, but yet can somehow do all that while wearing silly high-heeled boots, a thong beind, and a bosom-spilling bustier in front. I recognize there's frequently a portion of hypocrisy in the disconnect between how superheroines are represented, visually, and how they're supposedly perceived by their male hero peers. But Wonder Woman fans, for the intensity and constant reaffirmation of their hypocrisy, take the cake-and stink to high heaven. It'd be more honest, and better (not that that's what they want to be) if they'd just drool, and leer, and point, and openly aver that what they really want is good girl art verging on bad girl art, and openly admit that only always seeing her look hot and do-able, and never in anything other than the traditional swimsuit and heels, is all that will ever satisfy them.
I find it hard to take Wonder Woman seriously as a Warrior in heels in this new day and age.
In my opinion only Catwoman could get away with wearing heels doing what she does and it not seem silly.
I think that and being able to fly on her own are the best things George Perez added to her mythology.
